摘要: Embodiments of systems and approaches for managing post-harvest crop quality and pests are described. Such a system may include a plurality of edge devices each comprising sensor components and collectively forming a mesh network, for measuring the local physical environment within stored crops and, for example, transmitting the measurements to a service from within the crop storage area. In certain embodiments, such a system may be used to manage post-harvest crops and storage areas-for example, approaches are described for determining fumigation treatment duration, determining phosphine dosage, determining heat treatment duration, and determining safe storage time for crops.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to an ovitrap and a method of controlling mosquito populations. The ovitrap includes a container, a cover, and a dividing mechanism for dividing the container into two regions, which in use are filled with water, and which communicate via an opening such that a first volume below the dividing mechanism defines a larvae trapping region, and a second volume above the dividing mechanism defines an egg receiving region A light source having a cool, white spectra with two peaks is mounted above the container and positioned to direct light downwards at a water surface, such that the larvae move in a direction away from the light source, from the second volume into the first volume below the dividing mechanism via the opening. A gating mechanism is operatively linked to the light source for opening and closing the opening.

An example remote monitoring device may comprise: a receptacle or platform for receiving a monitored load, the receptacle or platform configured with one or more load cells for measuring the monitored load; a transmitter; and a microcontroller configured with a processor; wherein the processor is programmed to: measure, with the one or more load cells, an initial mass of the monitored load; periodically measure, with the one or more load cells, a current mass of the monitored load; and transmit, with the transmitter, a notification signal once a predetermined mass difference between the initial mass and the current mass is reached. An example method for remote monitoring of animals or insects is also disclosed.

The termite control device according to the present invention comprises: a cartridge having a structure including a member composed of a material that is resistant to decay or corrosion in soil and that is resistant to feeding damage by termites, thereby reducing feeding damage by termites, the structure having a passage through which the termites can move, and the structure containing an unavoidable, slow-acting insecticide active ingredient; and a container that is able to accommodate the cartridge and that is composed of a resin, a metal, a ceramic, or a composite of these materials. The container has a lid that can be opened and closed on the top surface thereof, and that has a plurality of through-holes or slits in a side surface thereof through which termites can enter.-

摘要: The present invention relates to a novel wormer device. The device utilizes vibration, whether mechanical or sound produced, to drive worms to the surface of the soil for collection. The wormer device comprises a base component with a handle portion and a telescoping metal probe. The base component includes an on/off button in communication with the metal probe, as well as a battery and a vibrating motor or embedded speaker that would generate vibrations down the metal probe into the ground. The vibrations produced by the device will trigger a response by the worms to attract them to the surface of the soil for collection.
