    摘要: A system and method for cooling a superconductive rotor coil. The system comprises a rotatable shaft coupled to the superconductive rotor coil. The rotatable shaft may comprise an axial passageway extending through the rotatable shaft and a first passageway extending through a wall of the rotatable shaft to the axial passageway. The axial passageway and the first passageway are operable to convey a cryogenic fluid to the superconductive rotor coil through the wall of the rotatable shaft. A cryogenic transfer coupling may be provided to supply cryogenic fluid to the first passageway.

    摘要: A laminated rotor for an electric machine is disclosed. In an embodiment, the rotor comprises a plurality of stacked laminations. Each lamination includes a plurality of radially extending slots arranged about a circumference thereof, and a first chamfer on a surface of each of the slots, wherein the surface mates with a wedge. The first chamfer connects the surface and a first face of the lamination. A stud member passes longitudinally through a hole in the lamination stack, a first end flange member on a first end of the lamination stack, and a second end flange member on a second end of the lamination stack. A first fastener is affixed to a first end of each of the at least one stud member; and a second fastener affixed to a second end of each of the at least one stud member.

    摘要: A structural integrity monitoring system includes a structure, at least two vibration monitoring devices mounted to the structure. Each of the at least two vibration monitoring devices outputs a vibration response signal. The structural integrity monitoring system also includes a controller operatively connected to each of the at least two vibration monitoring devices. The controller is configured to calculate a predicted vibration response based upon a vibration mode shape and the vibration response signal. The controller then compares the predicted vibration response against a measured vibration response to detect changes in the structure.

    摘要: A method is disclosed for fitting a rotor enclosure over at least one assembly of field windings mounted on a rotor core, said method comprising the steps: applying a force to elastically reduce a circumference of the at least one assembly of field windings mounted on the rotor core, where the reduction in circumference is greater than a circumference reduction due to just eliminating clearances between adjacent end-turns of windings; generating a clearance between the field windings and the rotor enclosure due to the application of the force; axially sliding the rotor enclosure over the at least one assembly of field windings while the circumference is reduced, and releasing the force to allow the circumference of the at least one assembly of field windings to expand and cause the enclosure to tightly fit on the at least one assembly of field windings.
