Abstract: A biometric authentication system is a biometric authentication system having a detection device and an authentication device performing personal authentication. The detection device has a plurality of sensor elements, a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of signal lines provided in correspondence with the sensor elements, and gate line drive circuit scanning the gate lines.
