    摘要: The invention is directed to methods and systems for controlling resource utilization. In particular, resources in a wireless telecommunications network may be monitored and controlled to eliminate unnecessary resource usage. Channels on the network, and the users thereof, may be monitored to identify under-utilized channels based on predetermined thresholds. If an under-utilized channel is identified, users may be immediately or subsequently transferred to another channel on the network and resources to the under-utilized channel may be eliminated. The channels may be dynamically monitored such that any changes in usage are addressed and users may be transferred multiple times to conserve resources.

    摘要: Systems, methods, and software for wireless frequency changes for wireless communication devices based on tracking area updates in wireless communication systems are provided herein. In one example, a method of operating a communication system is provided. The method includes providing wireless access to communication services for wireless communication devices over a first frequency spectrum at a wireless access node, and receiving tracking area updates transferred by ones of the wireless communication devices. The method also includes processing at least a quantity of the tracking area updates received at the wireless access node to determine idle timers for the wireless communication devices, where an expiration of an associated idle timer indicates that an associated wireless communication device can no longer receive the wireless access over the first frequency spectrum and can receive further wireless access over a second frequency spectrum.

    摘要: A wireless access node comprises a wireless communication transceiver and a processing system. The wireless communication transceiver is configured to exchange wireless communications with a plurality of wireless communication devices over a plurality of wireless communication channels. The processing system is configured to monitor a loading level on the wireless communication channels to determine when the loading level exceeds a loading threshold, and when the loading level exceeds the loading threshold, calculate an efficiency of an interference cancellation process, compare the efficiency of the interference cancellation process to an efficiency threshold, and if the efficiency of the interference cancellation process falls below the efficiency threshold, modify a frame offset in use by the wireless communication devices on at least one reverse link communication channel.

The processing system is also configured to select an individual one of the backhaul links for each of the packet fragments based on relative positions of the packet fragments in the sequence and based on the individual transmission delays of the backhaul links.

    摘要: What is disclosed is a method of operating a wireless communication device. The method includes, when in a first mode of operation, transmitting an access request to a wireless access node at a first transmit power, starting a first countdown timer, and awaiting an access request acknowledge from the wireless access node. In the first mode of operation, if the access request acknowledge is received within the first countdown timer, the method includes halting the first countdown timer and awaiting a resource assignment message from the wireless access node, and if the access request acknowledge is not received within the first countdown timer, the method includes retransmitting the access request to the wireless access node at a second transmit power and restarting the first countdown timer. The method also includes receiving a control message to enter a second mode of operation from the wireless access node, and when in the second mode of operation, transmitting the access request to the wireless access node, starting a second countdown timer, and awaiting the resource assignment message from the wireless access node. In the second mode of operation, if the resource assignment message is received within the second countdown timer, the method includes halting the second countdown timer, and if the resource assignment message is not received within the second countdown timer, the method includes retransmitting the access request to the wireless access node and restarting the second countdown timer.
