摘要： A test page produced by ink pens for calibrating drop weights for at least a first and a second printheads, comprising: a page with an area for color swatches; a plurality of color swatches disposed in the area; and a predetermined substantially uniform color background disposed in said area between and around said plurality of color swatches. In a system embodiment of the present invention, a sensor may be used for sensing spectral data for each color swatch in a plurality of color swatches; and a component may be provided for comparing the sensed spectral data for each color swatch in a plurality of the color swatches to spectral data for the background color and selecting one of the plurality of color swatches which has spectral data which is closest to the background color for use in adjusting ink volume for at least one of the ink pens.

摘要： A nozzle tape covers substantially all of an outlet portion and an electrical contact portion of a print cartridge. At least one hole provided in the portion of the nozzle tape covering substantially all of the electrical contact portion exposes at least one electrical contact formed on the electrical contact portion. When the cartridge is installed in a print device, such as a printer, a partial electrical connection will be established between the exposed electrical contact and a corresponding electrical contact in the print device. The partial electrical connection may be used to convey a signal to an output device, such as a computer. The signal may indicate that the nozzle tape must be removed before the print cartridge will work properly.

The system can also comprise a processing unit to execute the machine readable instructions, the machine readable instructions comprising a data collector. The data collector can receive a plurality of verification records from a printer. Each verification record can characterize a usage of a given replaceable supply at the printer. The data collector can also evaluate a verification history of the printer based on the plurality of verification records to determine a usage credit for the printer. The usage credit can correspond to a number of authentic replaceable supplies consumed at the printer.
