    摘要: Provided is a protection switching method via forwarding table correction in an Ethernet ring network. Upon detecting a failure in a link, a node generates a protection switching frame including an address list of a forwarding table corresponding to a port connected to the link, and transmits the protection switching frame to a port at an opposite direction of the link. A node that receives the protection switching frame deletes its own address from the address list included in the protection switching frame, and changes a port number of an address in the address list of the protection switching frame from among addresses of the forwarding table corresponding to a port that received the protection switching frame to a port number in an opposite direction of the port that received the protection switching frame or deletes the port number of the address in the address list.

    摘要: The present invention, in preferred aspects, provides a communication method using a network coding packet in a wireless network, with reduced occurrence of negative acknowledgements, between a access point and plural mobile terminals. In preferred embodiments of the present invention, a communication method using a network coding packet in a wireless network comprises: (a) transmitting plural downlink multicast packets, each containing serial numbers of packets, to the first and second mobile terminals sequentially; (b) receiving a first negative acknowledgement from the first mobile terminal; (c) receiving a second negative acknowledgement from the first mobile terminal or the second negative acknowledgement skipping the first negative acknowledgement on occurrence of the first packet error at the second mobile terminal; and (d) transmitting a restoration packet containing exclusive OR packet of all errored packets in the restoration period defined in reference to the second negative acknowledgement from the first and second mobile terminals.

    摘要: A method and a system are disclosed for reducing four-wave mixing (FWM) penalties in an optical transmission network. The FWM penalties are reduced by simultaneously and periodically modulating the phase of the optical signals propagating through a long fiber waveguide at a modulation frequency that causes destructive interference of the FWM products that are otherwise generated along the length of the long fiber waveguide. The method may be implemented in an optical transmitter for an optical transmission network by providing a phase modulator between the multiplexer and an optical boost amplifier so as to simultaneously modulate the phase of all the optical signals that are transmitted through the long fiber waveguide. Alternatively, a phase modulator may be disposed between each source of modulated optical signals and the multiplexer so as to separately modulate the phase of all the optical signals that are subsequently transmitted through the long fiber waveguide.

    摘要: A DPSK communication system employs an optical signal which comprises plural, coherent, optical frequencies, each optical frequency positioned within a range of frequencies (i.e., a "frequency slot"). The optical signal comprises plural frequency slots, with the wavefront in each time segment of each frequency slot being phase modulated in accordance with data signals. Plural frequency slots are transmitted "in parallel", in each of a plurality of succeeding time segments. A demodulator includes first and second optical paths, the first component of the optical signal directed onto the first optical path and a second component directed onto the second optical path. A modulator is positioned in at least one of the optical paths and is responsive, during a time segment, to a first applied control signal, to alter the phase, and thus the frequency, of the first component by approximately one frequency slot. At the output of the first and second optical paths, an optical coupler interferes the first component and the second component so as to enable constructive and destructive interference therebetween in accordance with respective phase modulations thereof.

The timestamping apparatus implements timestamping on a synchronization message at a physical layer when the synchronization message is transmitted to the physical layer. At an application layer of the timestamping apparatus, a bit stream including a start indicator bit informing a start of a pseudo random number sequence, the pseudo random number sequence, and an end indicator bit informing an end of the pseudo random number sequence is generated to check whether or not a message received from the physical layer is the synchronization message, and is inserted as signature information of the synchronization message. At the physical layer of the timestamping apparatus, the signature information included in the synchronization message is detected, and timestamping information is generated when the signature information is detected.
