摘要: Several methods for operating a built-in digital camera of a portable, handheld electronic device are described. In one embodiment, the device receives a user selection (e.g., tap, tap and hold, gesture) of a region displayed on the display screen (e.g., touch sensitive screen). A touch to focus mode may then be initiated in response to the user selection and exposure and focus parameters determined and adjusted. Then, an automatic scene detection mechanism can determine whether a scene has changed. If the scene has changed, then the touch to focus mode ends and a default automatic focus mode initiates. This mode sets a new exposure metering area and focus area prior to determining and adjusting exposure and focus parameters, respectively.

摘要: Methods, devices, and systems for continuous image capturing are described herein. In one embodiment, a method includes continuously capturing a sequence of images with an image capturing device. The method may further include storing a predetermined number of the sequence of images in a buffer. The method may further include receiving a user request to capture an image. In response to the user request, the method may further include automatically selecting one of the buffered images based on an exposure time of one of the buffered images. The sequence of images is captured prior to or concurrently with receiving the user request.

摘要: Systems, methods and a computer readable mediums for reducing run-time bandwidth requirements within digital image capture devices are disclosed herein. As the resolution of digital image capture devices increase, the bandwidth needed to support this increased resolution is becoming increasingly difficult to support. To reduce the problems associated with run-time bandwidth requirements, it may be beneficial to obtain full-resolution and display-resolution images at the same time from the image capture circuitry—writing both to memory at virtually the same time. The display resolution image may then be delivered to a display unit directly without the need for additional memory operations on the full-resolution image. Only when a user indicates they wish to capture an image need additional memory operations on the full-resolution image be performed.

摘要: This disclosure pertains to devices, methods, and computer readable media for performing panoramic photography processing techniques in handheld personal electronic devices. A few generalized steps may be used to carry out the panoramic photography processing techniques described herein: 1.) acquiring image data from the electronic device's image sensor's image stream; 2.) displaying a scaled preview version of the image data in real-time on the device's display; 3.) performing “motion filtering” on the acquired image data; 4.) generating full-resolution and lower-resolution versions of portions of the images that are not filtered out by the “motion filtering” process; 5.) substantially simultaneously “stitching” both the full-resolution and lower-resolution image portions together to create the panoramic scene; and 6.) substantially simultaneously sending the stitched version of the lower-resolution image portions to a preview region on the device's display and storing the stitched version of the full-resolution image portions to a memory.

摘要: While an electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface is in a locked, passcode-protected state, the device displays a lock screen user interface on the display. The lock screen user interface includes a plurality of restricted application launch icons, each restricted application launch icon corresponding to an application. The device also detects user input to activate a respective restricted application launch icon; and, in response to detecting the user input to activate the respective restricted application launch icon, starts a restricted session for a respective application that corresponds to the respective restricted application launch icon, wherein the respective application is configured to generate one or more content items while in the restricted session, and maintains the device in the locked, passcode-protected state for applications in the device other than the respective application.
