摘要： Provided herein are methods and compositions for promoting neuroprotection in a subject and for treating a neural disorder associated with protein aggregation comprising administering to the subject an agent that increases expression or activity of cathepsin-D. Also provided are methods of screening for agents that increase expression or activity of cathepsin-D and methods of screening for neuroprotective agents.
