    摘要: A power supply that is employable by a plasma display device for generating and supplying a plurality of voltages, the power supply including a first power source generating and supplying a first voltage, a transistor having a drain electrically coupled to the first power source, a first resistor having a first end coupled to the first power source and a second end electrically coupled to a gate of the transistor, a second resistor having a first end coupled to the second end of the first resistor and a second end electrically coupled to a second power source supplying a second voltage that is lower than the first voltage, and a capacitor having a first end coupled to a source of the transistor and a second end electrically coupled to the second power source. The coupling of the first end of the capacitor to the source of the transistor may form a third voltage supply node having the third voltage when the capacitor is charged.

    摘要: A plasma display device and a driving method thereof. A sustain discharge before a reset period for initializing a cell which is sustain discharged in a previous subfield is generated as a weak discharge rather than a strong discharge. By generating a weak sustain discharge, the amount of wall charge formed in the exterior area of electrodes may be reduced. As a result, in the subsequent reset period, the wall charge can be controlled to be appropriate for addressing while preventing misfiring and low discharge.

    摘要: A plasma display device and a power supply thereof having a fewer number of power sources in the plasma display device is disclosed. The power supply generates a voltage corresponding to a Ve power source by using a variable resistance through a voltage distribution principle without including a Ve power source. In addition, since a power supply circuit including a thermistor is used in order to correspond to a discharge firing voltage which is changed by a temperature, a sustain discharge is stably generated by adjusting a Ve voltage without including a Ve power source.

    摘要: A sustain or scan electrode driver for a plasma display device including a power recovery circuit, a voltage storage circuit, and a switching circuit. Power recovery is achieved by a coupling a power source at a minus sustain voltage to the sustain or scan electrode driver circuit that includes a capacitor and an inductor for creating resonance with the panel capacitor and recovering the power used in sustain discharge. Power loss of switches used in the driver circuit may be reduced and power recovery efficiency may be increased by using an additional capacitor in the driver circuit that maintains terminals of the switch at a predetermined level.
