    摘要: An integrated support for tools utilizes both round and rectangularly shaped “U” socket tool support members that can be slidably mounted on a metal strip, and displaceable supports that can be mounted on a solidly shaped strip to provide an extended support with which the strip may be supported and stabilized. The extended support may be extruded, cut, or formed in any manner. It provides a body to which the strip may be attached, provides side surfaces that include recessed surfaces to facilitate grasping, and may optionally provide an extended area magnetic base, which works well with metal tool boxes to provide a measure of stability beyond its own weight. The support may actively provide accommodative support to a plurality of strips. The support has a central opening having a pair of oppositely oriented projections at an upper end thereof, that provide an engagement surface for the strip by using a threaded member, or a threaded member in combination with a nut, positioned with the central opening and either applying a facial cutting force against the oppositely oriented projections, or a compressive force against the oppositely oriented projections or restrictions over the central opening, with respect to the engaged nut in order to rotationally fix the threaded member.

    摘要: The devices and systems of the present invention encompasses both an apparatus and method enabling quick repositioning of positional devices, and quick positioning of supports, particularly useful in edging and milling applications. The positional device uses a set of nested pistons which are mounted in an offset fashion onto a circular vacuum platform. The platform has a push tubing connection which is amenable to manual evacuation onto the working table, and a manual pressure release to facilitate spot movement of individual positional devices. An auxiliary vacuum system enables the positional devices in each work area to be individually controlled.The quick positioning of supports is accomplished through the use of a "spider" shaped hub which is connected to the supports using a set of approximately equal lengths of pressure tubing. Since the vast majority of shapes which are processed have a center of mass at a given point, the use of the hub even where only a portion of the periphery supports are equidistant from the hub will still result in a savings in tangled lines and in the total number of line going onto the table. Further, this "spider" or hub arrangement assists the operator in that it encourages setup using a center member and its surrounding members, and thus saves setup time. Therefore, to an extent, it tends to keep a surround orientation as it is moved about the work table, to quickly locate the work area.

    摘要: A system which includes a sacrificial board such as a cement board and containment support lid, sometimes referred to as a saw cup, is provided for use with a vacuum hold down support to allow cutting on top of normal suction cups by providing a temporary scorable surface in an assembly that is easily installed and removed, inexpensive to own, use and handle and which enables a user to go directly back to using a CNC machine for final edging and processing of the material without having to go to another location for sawing and without having to deal with heavy and unwieldy plates. The dimensions of the cement board and containment lid are such that any penetration of the cutting blade is intentional and will result in controlled scarring of the cement board which does not disable continued use of the saw cup. A one-piece molded saw cup is also illustrated.

    摘要: The devices and systems encompass the provision of a plurality of supports specially designed to closely support a work piece immediately adjacent the edge being worked, ground or polished. The top surfaces of the supports are machineable in place on the working table to insure that all are brought to exactly the same height to prevent adjacent supports from creating uneven support and adjacent shear forces. The top members of the supports are a hardened plastic which will not enable the work piece to displace downwardly but which will provide a vacuum downward force. The hardened plastic top of the edge hold down are machineable without losing the ability to act as a vacuum hold down. The shape of the hardened plastic top portions of the edge hold downs are complementary to each other and provide gently interlocking support and can be placed closely enough to eliminate the possibility of any significant amount of work piece area exposure which could produce shear forces. The gently interlocking shape of the edge supports facilitates their arrangement in a shape matching complex edge shapes of the work piece, including sharp corners and the like.
