The body of the cover includes a rim and a recess designed to fit the contour of the control valve button. The ridges are designed to provide enough rigidity to support pressure applied thereto, and enough elasticity to absorb energy created by the actuation of the button. The absorption of the energy dampens the stinging sensation typically felt by the operator when actuating the parking brakes.

摘要： A braking system control requires that a first or service braking system be actuated before a second or parking braking system can be released to prevent unexpected movements. A sensor senses that the service brakes are engaged and controls a device to release the parking brakes. A latch ensures that the parking brakes remain released. For example, a piston and check valve form the sensor and latch. Service brake pressure works against the piston. Above a threshold level, service brake pressure drives the piston to open a valve that provides pressurized air to a parking brake release system. Once released, the check valve directs parking brake release pressure to the piston to keep the valve open.

摘要： A braking system is able to meet emergency stopping distance requirements associated with a failed rear axle service control line by modifying the service relay valve. The service relay valve incorporates a biased double check valve so that an additional or secondary control line from the foot control valve communicates with the service port of the relay valve. If the primary circuit is operational, a biasing force imposed on the double check valve permits normal operation via the primary service line. On the other hand, if the primary service line is lost, the biasing force is overcome and communication between the secondary service line and the service port of the relay valve is established.

摘要： An assembly for use in cutting a bone during a surgical procedure comprises a cutting tool and a guide block. The cutting tool includes a blade and a drive unit for imparting a cutting motion to the blade. The guide block can be positioned against the bone and has a reference surface for guiding the blade during the cutting step, the guide block having a screen surface which provides a point of reference to indicate proper alignment of the blade. The cutting tool includes means for directing a collimated beam of light in a direction parallel to the blade, on to the screen surface on the guide block when the blade is in contact with the guide surface, the distance between the blade axis and the light beam being equal to the distance between the reference surface and the point of reference on the screen surface.

摘要： A method is provided to perform anti-aging techniques in an informational display. An informational display is located on the front bezel of a consumer recording device that displays information related to the content being recorded or played or the operation of the device. To increase the life of the display, displayed text is shifted within the display so that pixel use in the display is more evenly distributed with the pixels in the display. To determine the direction and shape of the shift, real-time calculations of pixel use are made or a simulator is used to compute the probable use of each pixel in the display over a certain period of time. Another anti-aging technique is to dim the display of information after a specified amount of time of display at normal brightness.

摘要： A valve for use in a pneumatic system of a truck-trailer having a source of air under pressure, a reservoir, at least one spring brake unit and a brake service line is provided. The valve comprises a housing, a pressure protection valve portion, a spring brake actuation valve portion and an anti-compounding valve portion. The housing has a supply passage in communication with the source of air under pressure. The pressure protection valve portion is operably disposed within a first chamber of the housing. The first chamber has an inlet in communication with the supply passage and an outlet in communication with the reservoir. The pressure protection valve portion is configured to selectively block the flow of pressurized air from the supply passage to the reservoir through the first chamber until a predetermined pressure is reached. The spring brake actuation valve portion is operably disposed within a second chamber of the housing. The second chamber has an inlet in communication with the supply passage, at least one delivery outlet passage in communication with the at least one spring brake unit and an exhaust outlet in communication with the at least one delivery passage. The spring brake actuation valve portion controls pressurized air flow toward the spring brake unit and the exhaust outlet. The anti-compounding valve portion is operably disposed within a third chamber of the housing for preventing simultaneous application of the spring brake unit and service brake unit. The third chamber has a first inlet in communication with the supply passage, a second inlet in communication with the brake service line and a first outlet in communication with the first chamber and a second outlet in communication with the second chamber. The anti-compounding valve portion prevents flow of pressurized air from the brake service line towards the spring brake actuation valve portion.
