    摘要: A mounting bracket, especially suitable for supporting a green tire holder, comprises, in series, a fixed bracket secured to a tire mold press, a hollow rectangular housing, and an adjustable arm for supporting a green tire holder on a vertical shaft. The adjustable arm is axially movable, and is also horizontally, vertically, and rotatably adjustable with respect to the hollow housing, so that the shaft can be precisely positioned with respect to the axis of the tire mold. The hollow rectangular housing is secured to the fixed bracket by means of a pivot screw and a removable pin. The housing is fixedly secured to the fixed bracket when the removable pin is in place, and is capable of being swung, so as to permit access to the tire mold, when the pin is removed.

    摘要: A tire press has an upper mold fixedly attached to a top plate. A bottom mold is fixedly attached to a bottom plate. The tire press has a plurality of guide posts adapted to maintain proper alignment of the upper mold and the lower mold as the tire press opens and closes. A plurality of lock rods, which are independent of the guide posts, are positioned about the tire press. Each of the lock rods has a first end and a second end. The lock rods may have an adjustment mechanism positioned on the first end of the lock rods to adjust the various mold heights. Locking means are a part of the tire press, which are adapted to selectively engage the second end of the lock rods. Further, each of the lock rods has cylinder mechanism operatively connected to the locking means. The cylinder mechanism is adapted to force the locking means to the surface of the lock rods. The cylinder mechanism is a hydraulic cylinder having the piston disposed within the chamber. The piston has a release side and a squeeze side, such that when fluid is introduced on the squeeze side, a substantially equal amount of tension is placed on the lock rods to lock the tire press. When fluid is introduced on the release side, the locking means can be removed from the lock rods and the tire press can be opened.

    摘要: A method of utilizing an adjustable height bladder securement mechanism to effect advantageous bladder movement during a loading and shaping process is disclosed. A tire press comprises a lower mold, an upper mold, and a center mechanism. The center mechanism has an upper clamping mechanism for securing the upper periphery of a bladder and a lower clamping mechanism for securing the lower periphery of the bladder. A center mechanism tube has a center rod positioned therein. A piston is disposed within the center mechanism tube. The piston provides reciprocating motion to the center rod. A position sensor mechanism is operatively associated with the center mechanism. The method comprises the steps of establishing a first baseline height by first applying a set force to the center rod of the bladder securement mechanism to determine the stretch of the bladder; repeatedly curing tires with said bladder up to a certain number of cures; establishing a successive baseline height; and, comparing the first and successive baseline heights and if the difference is less than a predetermined stretch height tolerance, continuing curing tires. If the difference between the first and successive baseline heights is outside of an acceptable stretch tolerance, the bladder must be corrected, either through replacement or by adjusting the height that the center rod reaches during the loading process.

    摘要: A raking mechanism is disclosed which comprises a side delivery raking means mounted on a frame having three support wheels. The mechanism can be self-propelled or towed for raking and/or dethatching mowed lawns, with clipped foliage being discharged to one side and deposited in windrows. A steerable first support wheel is located toward the front end of the frame, whereas second and third support wheels are located adjacent the ends of a wheel suspension means that is pivotally attached to the rear of the frame. The second support wheel is mounted on a nonpivotable axle and rotates in a plane that is parallel to the line of draft of the mechanism, and the third support wheel is freely pivotable on a vertical axis. The side delivery raking means is immobilized against vertical movement with respect to the frame, but the rear of the frame can be electively raised or lowered to a preferred elevation for adjusting the height of the raking means relative to the surface of the ground.

    摘要: A method for relieving pressure in a vulcanized tire while still in a tire press is disclosed, wherein the bladder securement mechanism utilizes a position sensor mechanism and eliminates the need for spacers and a floating piston. A tire press comprises a lower mold, an upper mold, and a bladder securement mechanism. The bladder securement mechanism has an upper clamping mechanism for securing the upper periphery of a bladder and a lower clamping mechanism for securing the lower periphery of the bladder. A center mechanism tube has a center mechanism rod positioned therein. A piston is disposed within the center mechanism tube. The piston provides reciprocating motion to the center mechanism rod. A position sensor mechanism operatively associated with the bladder securement mechanism. The method comprises the steps of positioning a green tire on the bottom mold; lowering the upper clamping mechanism; inflating the bladder, thereby forming a seal between the bladder and the tire; closing the press so that the green tire is enclosed within the upper and lower molds; curing the green tire; breaking the seal by moving the upper clamping mechanism downward toward the lower clamping mechanism; releasing pressure from the tire; and, dissipating the released pressure. Depending on the configuration of the tire press, the lower clamping mechanism may be moved to strip the bladder from the tire.
