    摘要: Vacuum regulator apparatus comprising: a valve that in use is arranged to admit air to a vacuum system that in operation is at a sub-atmospheric pressure, the apparatus being so arranged that an increase in the pressure in the vacuum system tends to cause less air to be admitted to the vacuum system by the regulator apparatus, and vice versa; means responsive to the position of the said valve arranged to give a first signal if air is being admitted at more than a first predetermined rate and a second signal if air is being admitted at less than a second predetermined rate lower than the first; and pressure-responsive means arranged to give a third signal if the pressure in the vacuum system is outside a predetermined range.

    摘要: The device and method for placement of an instrument, specifically electrodes, in the GI tract allows for placement of electrodes for gastric electrical stimulation into the gastric wall using endoscopic techniques. The device has one or more electrodes disposed on an elongated body having a pointed first end and a bolster disposed on a second end. When placed within the GI tract, the first end of the device extends through the gastric and abdominal walls, extending outside of the patient's body with the bolster in contact against the inner lining of the gastric wall to retain the device. Exposed electrodes contact the gastric smooth muscle. Insulated wires in electrical connection with-the electrodes run the length of the device body. Once the device is placed, the first end of the device body is removed to expose the wires, allowing electrical connection to an external electrical signal generator to provide electrical stimulus.

    摘要: A spinning tubular projectile (STUP) is subcalibre to reduce both retard and the gyroscopic stability. The total effect is to reduce crosswind sensitivity and to obtain a better ballistic match with an armour piercing fin stabilized, discarding sabot (APFSDS) round. To reduce the range to that desired for a limited range practice round, the STUP is equipped with spin-damping fins on its surface near the projectile center of gravity.
