    摘要: A pen-based portable computer, or pen-tablet computer, for use with a vehicular docking station that allows for the exchange or replacement of components thereof without the need for returning the computer to the manufacturer. The computer utilizes a main or primary housing for the major components of the computer, and a separate, independent, auxiliary expansion unit having its own housing for mounting a replaceable radio module that is connected to the main computer via a multi-pin connector, whereby the replacement or exchange of the radio module for a different one is easily and readily achieved, and where auxiliary or expansion devices may be connected to the main computer thereby, and where the auxiliary device itself serves as a handle for holding the main computer. Also provided is a vehicular docking station for the combined main computer and auxiliary unit, which vehicular docking station is provided with a multi-pin connector for receiving thereby a multi-pin connector of the auxiliary unit when the computer is connected to the auxiliary unit.

    摘要: A float-type liquid level gauge is provided for measuring the level of a liquid such as LPG within a horizontally oriented cylindrical tank (228). The gauge includes a movable pivot arm (212) supporting a float arm assembly (225) and coupled by gears (207, 214) to a magnet shaft (206, 208) and magnet (210) mounted in a rigid support arm (204) through a sideways-securing shaft channel(209). The support arm is connected to the lower side of a gauge head (202) and the magnet extends into a passage (52) in the gauge head so as to be magnetically coupled to a level indicating dial (226) provided on the upper side of the gauge head. The lower portion (302) of the support arm is angled and offset with respect to a longitudinal axis (265) such that a high ratio can be obtained between the gears while still permitting the components of the gauge to pass through the opening of a standard pressure fitting (234).

    摘要: A system for determining a fluid level in a pressurizable container comprising is disclosed. The system includes a service valve having a set of wrench flats defining parallel flat surfaces, one of the wrench flats having a recess defined entirely within its flat surface, a stop-fill device interconnected with the service valve and operable to rotate a first magnet inside the service valve in proximity to the recess in proportion to the amount of fluid in the pressurizable container, and a dial assembly having a dial face and a pointer attached to a second magnet, the second magnet housed in a magnet protrusion on a side of the dial face opposite the pointer and operable to fit into the recess in the service valve such that the dial moves on the dial face proportionately to the degree of rotation of the first magnet inside the service valve. In one variation, a sensor placed in the recess or adjacent a throat of the service valve is electrically connected to a remotely located gauge for displaying a reading corresponding to the level of fluid in the container.

The gauge assembly has a shaft that rotates as the fluid level changes in the tank. The indicator translates the rotational position of the shaft into a fluid level. The stop-fill assembly moves from an open position, where fluid can flow into the tank, to a closed position, where fluid is prohibited from flowing into the tank, depending on the rotational position of the shaft.

    摘要: An electronic printer mechanism having a movable printhead assembly , wherein the printhead is a matrix of selectively heatable semiconductor mesas for producing dot matrix characters one line at a time on a paper medium. The electronic printer mechanism is constructed with a sectional housing including upper and lower housing sections which are releasably secured together to define an interior chamber for receiving components of the electronic printer. The lower housing section is provided with complementary sets of shaft-receiving recesses such that drop-in assembly of components with respect to the lower housing section as received in respective sets of the recesses prior to securement of the upper and lower housing sections together is accomplished. One component assembly comprises an operating shaft on which the printhead assembly including a carrier member fixedly supporting a printhead is mounted for transversing movement therealong. A gear train assembly driven by a rotary power shaft from a motor imparts rotation to the operating shaft and includes a timing control gear for sequentially stepping through the operating cycle of the printer and a paper-advancing gear arrangement. The paper-advancing gear arrangement relies upon a Geneva gear wheel to intermittently advance the paper one line for each periodic rotation of the Geneva gear wheel as the carrier member and printhead supported thereby complete a one line traverse along the rotating operating shaft.
