摘要： An electrical connector mounting apparatus has an electrically conductive member formed with spring biased fingers, a base portion and a fastening member. The spring biased fingers in conjunction with the base portion provide electrical continuity between the base of the electrical connector and a chassis frame when the connector is inserted into a frame opening. The base portion of the electrically conductive member is captured between the base of the electrical connector and a support member, which prevent excessive connector rotation and provides strain relief between the base portion and the fastening member. The fastening member is spring biased and engages the frame opening during the insertion of the electrical connector into the frame.

摘要： A removable lamp module (14) employs a male (26) and female (22) electrical connector (24) pair that serves multiple functions including connecting a lamp power supply (72) and high-voltage lamp igniter circuit (74) to an arc lamp (39), acting as a safety interlock switch, and mechanically latching the lamp module within a projector cavity (13). The lamp module safely encloses the arc lamp, provides an airflow pathway for cooling the arc lamp, and slidably secures (50) the male half of the connector pair. The lamp module slides in a first direction into the cavity, and the male half of the connector pair slides in a second direction, transverse to the first direction, into engagement with the female half of the connector pair to latch the lamp module within the projector cavity. Replacing the arc lamp entails sliding the connector pair out of engagement, removing the lamp module from a projector enclosure (12), and replacing the lamp. Disengaging the connector pair mechanically unlatches the lamp module from the projector enclosure and concurrently opens a safety interlock circuit that electrically disconnects power from the lamp power supply and the lamp igniter circuit, and electrically disconnects the arc lamp from the lamp power supply and the lamp igniter circuit.

摘要： A lamp module includes a lamp-reflector assembly supported within a plastic lamp frame for installation within an image projector to direct light toward a projection engine of the image projector. The lamp-reflector assembly includes a light source accurately positioned near the crown of an elliptical reflector and a plurality of precisely sized kinematic mounting features accurately spaced around the periphery of the reflector for mating with a plurality of complementary mounting points accurately located on the image projector about a light-path aperture of the projection engine. The kinematic mounting features preferably include a flat, a cone, and a V-groove; and the mounting points are preferably three convex hemispherical surfaces. Mating the kinematic mounting features to the mounting points imparts six independent constraints, three translational and three rotational, to eliminate the six degrees of positional freedom. Alternatively, the kinematic mounting features are spaced about the light-path aperture, and the hemispherical mounting points are formed directly onto the reflector about its periphery. A biasing mechanism biases the lamp-reflector assembly toward the light-path aperture to seat the kinematic mounting features against the mounting points and thereby precisely orient the lamp-reflector assembly relative to the light-path aperture.
