    摘要: A developing cartridge for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes, a toner housing, a toner storage chamber, a toner feeding chamber, a feeding roller, a developing roller and a shielding device. One side of the toner housing has an opening, and the toner storage chamber and the toner-feeding chamber communicate with each other through a communication hole. The shielding device is installed within the toner storage chamber so as to move from a shielding position where it shields the communication hole to an opening position where it opens the communication hole. Accordingly, since the shielding member is capable of moving within the toner storage chamber, the user can save trouble of separating and removing the shielding member from the toner housing.

The developing unit is rotatably installed in a photosensitive unit on which a photosensitive drum is mounted, centering on a hinge, and comprises a developing roller. The developing roller faces the photosensitive drum, is rotated, and develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive drum. A center of a first idle gear to which a driving force is primarily transferred from a photosensitive drum gear formed as a single body in the photosensitive drum, is placed in the center of the hinge between the photosensitive drum gear and a developing roller gear formed as a single body in the developing roller.
