    摘要: An anti-jam assembly for incorporation in an article destroying appliance includes a fixed core mount assembly including a first support member spaced apart from a second support member. At least one moveable cutter shaft is disposed between and rotatably mounted to the first and second support members. A third elongate member extends in parallel relationship to the at least one cutter shaft. This third support member is moveable from a first position to at least a second position. The first and the at least second position correspond to a variable width of a feed path directing an article toward the at least one cutter. An arm is affixed to the elongate member and pivotal at a mounting surface when the elongate member moves toward the second position. A sensor activates when it detects movement of the arm. The arm and the sensor are removed from a proximity of the at least one cutter or the feed path.

    摘要: An article destruction device includes an electric motor driving at least one moving component. An indication panel includes at least three visual indicators situated in sequence. Each visual indicator is associated with a stage of an approaching overload (motor cool down) condition. A first visual indicator lights when the motor or corresponding sensor temperature is below a first threshold, i.e., when the device is first powered on. A second indicator lights when the temperature exceeds the first threshold and is below at least a second threshold, i.e., the temperature is approaching a fault condition. A last visual indicator lights when the temperature exceeds the first and the at least second thresholds, i.e., the fault condition is met. A thermistor on the motor energizes (self-heats) with the motor. A thermostatic switch controls current flow through windings of the motor depending on measured temperatures meeting operating and equilibrium temperature thresholds.

    摘要: A fragmentation device includes a bin formed from at least one continuous wall extending upwardly from a bottom surface. A containment space is defined by the at least one wall and the bottom surface. An adjacent fragmentation assembly is situated adjacent to an entrance of the bin. An illumination means is situated in proximity to an exit slot of the fragmentation assembly and the entrance of the bin. The illumination means directs at least one light beam downwardly into the containment space. A controller actuates the illumination means when a mechanical system contained in the fragmentation assembly is energized. In another embodiment, the controller actuates the illumination device when a sensor detects a presence of an article entering the fragmentation assembly.
