Abstract:
The present invention relates to a portable computer having an access door. The portable computer has a housing having a surface with an opening. At least one slot is formed on the surface having the opening. A door is coupled to the housing from the outside and the housing has at least one pin inserted into the housing through a slot. A washer is coupled to the pin. The washer is combined with a pin within the housing to enable the door to be moved horizontally along the slot. A spring is mounted on the surface corresponding to the slot. The spring provides the door with an elastic force when the door is moved horizontally along the slots.
Abstract:
An arrangement for safely keeping a stylus as the input unit in the housing of a palm-sized computer contains a guide opening formed in one side of the housing, a stylus holding channel extending from the guide opening towards the inside of the housing for holding the stylus inserted through the guide opening, the cross section of the stylus holding channel being designed to snugly receive the stylus, at least a groove formed on the circumference of the stylus, a resilient strip formed integrally with the inside of the stylus holding channel by cutting the wall of the stylus holding channel, the resilient strip elongated in the direction of the stylus holding channel and having a free end, and a hook projected from the free end of the resilient strip towards the inside of the stylus holding channel, wherein the hook may engage the groove to safely keep the stylus inserted into the stylus holding channel. Preferably, the stylus has more than one grooves so as to be inserted into the stylus holding channel step by step. The arrangement further includes a flange radially formed on the rear end of the stylus, and a slot formed in one side of the housing adjacent to the guide opening as to engage and expose the flange of the stylus completely inserted into the stylus holding channel, whereby the flange may be manually pressed upon retracting the stylus out of the stylus holding channel. The hook contains a radius of curvature the same as that of a groove of a stylus allowing for surfaces, instead of points, to meet when the hook locks into a groove of a stylus.
Abstract:
The housing of a palm-sized computer consists of a top housing part having an upper surface, side surfaces and an opened bottom and a bottom housing part for covering the opened bottom to enclose an electronic circuit board. The housing is provided with an expansion card arrangement for electrically connecting an expansion card with the electronic circuit board, which comprises an card insertion opening formed on one side of the housing for inserting the expansion card into the housing, a socket formed on the electronic circuit board to electrically connect the expansion card with the electronic circuit board, the opening of the socket directly facing the card insertion opening, and a guide support integrally formed with the housing between the card insertion opening and the socket so as to guide and support the expansion card inserted through the card insertion opening into the socket.
Abstract:
A connector assembly for electrically connecting a first and a second electronic unit, comprises a plug provided in the first electronic unit to have a plurality of spring pins and a second rigid pin, the plug be mounted in a plug housing, and a socket provided in the second electronic unit to have a plurality of first pin contacts corresponding to the spring pins and a second pin contact with a hole for receiving the second rigid pin, whereby the spring pins resiliently contact respective ones of the first pin contacts with the second rigid pin received by the hole of the second pin contact, or are obstructed by the second rigid pin from contacting the first pin contacts according as the plug is correctly inserted into the socket or not.
