Abstract: In the technical field of elevator systems, so as to provide a measure for preventing an overspeed governor rope inertia from unwantedly engaging a safety gear in an overspeed governor system, which has a governor rope connected to a moving mass of the elevator system, a machinery brake for decelerating the moving mass so as to perform a quick stop of the moving mass, a safety gear mounted to the moving mass, a synchronization linkage for tripping the safety gear and a synchronization linkage blocking device for blocking the synchronization linkage and/or a governor brake for braking the governor rope, it is determined whether a quick stop of the moving mass is performed, and the governor brake or the synchronization linkage blocking device is activated when the quick stop of the moving mass is performed.

Abstract: An elevator includes at least an elevator car arranged to move reciprocally in an elevator hoistway and fitted on guide rails, a plurality of landing doors having landing door locks openable e.g. with a service key, and a safety arrangement arranged to form a safe space, preferably a working space, in the elevator hoistway below the elevator car, access to which safe space is enabled via at least one landing door in the proximity of the base of the elevator hoistway, and/or a safe space, preferably a working space, above the elevator car, to which access is enabled via at least one landing door leading to the roof of the elevator car, and in which elevator the aforementioned safe space has a minimum height. The formation of each safe space is arranged to be implemented as a consequence of the opening occurring, e.g. with a service key, from a floor level of a landing door enabling access into the elevator hoistway.

Abstract: An elevator having an elevator car configured to move in a hoistway, and floor landings, and a protective arrangement, which arrangement has a wall connected to the bottom of the car, which protective wall can be displaced between a vertical operating position and a retracted position folded out of the vertical operating position, and when in which operating position the wall forms a wall extending downwards from the bottom edge of the floor landing side of the elevator car, and in which elevator the protective arrangement has locking means for preventing the protective wall in the operating position from folding out. The locking means has one or more movable locking means, which is/are arranged to be moved between a locking and retracted position, when in which locking position the locking means prevents the wall in the operating position from folding out of the operating position towards the retracted position.
