Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (1) for generating steam. The device (1) comprises a plate (2) forming a surface, and a heating element (3) to heat the plate (2) to a predetermined temperature being at least above water evaporation temperature. The plate (2) is inclined at an angle compared to the horizontal direction to define an upper end and a lower end. The device (1) also comprises a water inlet arrangement (4) for dispensing water onto the plate (2) proximate the upper end, a control unit (11) to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (2), and a scale collection container (5) disposed adjacent to the plate (2). The control unit (11) is configured to control the flow of water dispensed onto the plate (2) and the temperature of the plate (2) so that substantially all the water dispensed onto the plate (2) evaporates before it reaches the lower end (15) of the plate (2). This invention allows an easy scale collection, thanks to the inclination angle of the plate's surface that causes the dislodged scale to travel down the plate's surface toward the lower end of the plate and, ultimately, into the container.

Abstract: The present application relates to a steam iron head (30). The steam iron head (30) has a steam inlet (36), a steam pathway (40), and at least one steam vent through which steam is discharged from the steam iron head. The steam pathway (40) has a first steam flow section (50) and a second steam flow section (60). The first steam flow section (50) defines an indirect flow path between the steam inlet (36) and a second steam flow section (60). The second steam flow section (60) defines a cyclonic flow path between the first steam flow section (50) and the at least one steam vent. The present application also relates to a steam system iron (10) having a steam iron head (30). This invention helps remove any water droplets, for example formed by condensation, from the steam flow passing through the steam iron head from the steam inlet to the at least one steam vent.

Abstract: The present application relates to a steam iron (1) for treating garments, comprising a heel (2) to rest the steam iron (1) on a supporting surface (S) when the steam iron (1) is not treating garments, a pressurization unit (3) having a chamber (4) comprising a water inlet (5) for receiving water and a water outlet (6). The pressurization unit (3) is adapted so that, in a rest position (PI) where the heel (2) is placed on the supporting surface (S), it generates an air vacuum in the chamber (4) to draw water into the chamber (4) via the water inlet (5) and, in a lifted position (P2) where the heel (2) is not placed on the supporting surface (S), pressurizes the water drawn in the chamber (4). The steam iron also comprises a steam engine (7) for generating steam from water towards the garments and a water output channel (8) for carrying water under pressure from the water outlet (6) to the steam engine (7). This invention allows easily pressurizing the water in the chamber for in turn increasing the steam generation.
