Abstract: The head cover for an engine includes a gas passage in the head cover, a gas outlet formed on a head cover wall at a terminal end portion of the gas passage in the head cover, a gas intermediate outlet portion formed in the head cover wall so as to face space inside the head cover except the gas passage in the head cover, and a gas intermediate inlet portion formed in the head cover wall so as to face the gas passage in the head cover, in which an opening specification in which through holes penetrating the head cover wall are formed and a closing specification in which the through holes are not formed can be selected for the gas intermediate outlet portion and the gas intermediate inlet portion.

Abstract: An engine is provided where oil is minimally blown off through a breather chamber. The breather chamber includes a plurality of breather inlet chambers each having a breather inlet which opens on a bottom wall; an oil separation chamber where blow-by gases flown out from the breather inlet chambers merge together and oil separation is performed; and a breather outlet. A ceiling wall of each breather inlet chamber is lower than a ceiling wall of an oil separation chamber. It is preferable that the respective breather inlet chambers each have: a remote-side chamber portion disposed remote from the oil separation chamber and a near-side chamber portion disposed near to the oil separation chamber. A ceiling wall of the near-side chamber portion is disposed lower than a ceiling wall of the remote-side chamber portion with a stepped portion formed between the ceiling wall and the ceiling wall.

Abstract: A water cooled engine is provided, including a cylinder head with minimized thermal strain. A head water jacket includes an inter-exhaust-port-wall water channel between a first exhaust entrance port wall and a second exhaust entrance port wall. The cylinder head includes a cooling water injection passage provided at a bottom wall thereof. The cooling water injection passage is positioned on the exhaust end side, and includes a passage entrance provided on the exhaust end side, and a passage exit directed toward the inter-exhaust-port-wall water channel. An exhaust port wall includes a heat dissipation fin extending from a first exhaust entrance port wall toward an exhaust end. The space between the heat dissipation fin and a second exhaust entrance port wall forms a water channel entrance of the inter-exhaust-port-wall water channel.
