    Abstract: An electricity removing unit 50 includes a rotating roller part 51, a brush part 52, a driving part, and a restraint member. The brush part 52 includes a plurality of conductive fiber bristles 52a having base end portions connected to a peripheral surface of the rotating roller part 51. The driving part rotationally drives the rotating roller part 51. The restraint member abuts the brush part 52 from a rotation downstream side, thereby inclining the plurality of conductive fiber bristles 52a to an upstream side from a downstream side of a rotational direction toward a radial outside and thus reforming them. In this way, the restraint member restrains a distance between a front end of each conductive fiber bristle 52a and the peripheral surface of the rotating roller part 51 to a setting distance set in advance.

    Abstract: The fixing device includes a fixing member heated from inside; and a pressing member forming a fixing nip with the fixing member. A toner image transferred on a sheet is heated and pressed so as to be fixed on the sheet at the fixing nip through which the sheet is nipped and conveyed. The fixing member includes, on an inner circumferential surface thereof, a heat absorbing layer containing heat-conductive fillers oriented in a direction intersecting with a conveying direction of the sheet.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image carrying member, a transport belt, a driving roller, a transferring member, a nip portion, and an applying portion. The transferring member makes contact with the inner circumferential surface of the transport belt to press the transport belt against the image carrying member. The nip portion is formed between the transport belt and the image carrying member by the pressure of the transferring member. The applying portion applies a bias to the transferring member. Application of the bias to the transferring member causes, at the nip portion, the toner image carried on the image carrying member to be transferred to the recording medium carried on the transport belt. Near the nip portion, a pair of support members are arranged which keeps both width-direction end parts of the transport belt in contact with the image carrying member.

    Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressuring member, a separation member and a bearing. The fixing member is heated by a heat source. The pressuring member is brought into pressure contact with the fixing member to form a fixing nip with the fixing member. The separation member has a main body part and a shaft part projecting in an axial direction from the main body part to become the rotation center, and is configured so that one end of the main body part come into contact with the fixing member. The bearing pivotally supports the shaft part of the separation member. The bearing is formed so that its contact portion coming into contact with the shaft part has shorter width in the axial direction than other portion.
