A display apparatus includes a display device, a touch panel, and a control device. The control device acts as a display controller. The display controller causes the display device to display an operation screen including a character input field, superimpose a keyboard on the operation screen, when the touch panel receives a touch operation performed on the character input field, and display a first scroll bar for scrolling the operation screen, a displayed portion of which has been reduced by the keyboard superimposed, in a first vacant region in the reduced displayed portion, not overlapping with the character input field and the keyboard.

An electronic device includes a CPU that executes the process execution program to function as a plurality of process execution units as threads and an execution control unit. The plurality of process execution units use the CPU to execute a process. The execution control unit controls executing of the process by the plurality of process execution units. The execution control unit sets a CPU usage priority level for each of the plurality of process execution units. The execution control unit changes the CPU usage priority level of the job of a type other than a specific type to a priority level that is equal to or less than a specific priority level, when the job of the specific type and the job of the type other than the specific type are simultaneously executed.

An electronic device includes a touch panel, a time information obtaining section, and an authentication section. The time information obtaining section obtains time information for user authentication. The authentication section executes user authentication based on the time information obtained by the time information obtaining section. The time information obtaining section changes the time information according to a user's touch duration on the touch panel and changes an amount of change in time that the time information indicates according to a user's manner of touching the touch panel.

Provided is an image forming apparatus that controls a user authentication and a switching action for switching into a specific operation mode (either one of first and second power saving modes, and emergency stop), depending an alarm level of disaster information. A user authentication function circuit is for performing the user authentication. An operation mode switching circuit is for switching a current operation mode into the specific operation mode. A disaster information acquire circuit is for receiving disaster information representing the alarm level. A system control circuit controls, depending on the alarm level, the user authentication operation by the user authentication function circuit and a switching of one of the operation modes by the operation mode switching circuit. The aforementioned specified operation mode is either one of the user authentication mode, the first power saving mode, the second power saving mode, and the emergency stop.

An image forming apparatus includes a setup unit, a language identification unit, and a controller. The setup unit establishes a condition that enables group chat to be performed, among the image forming apparatus and a plurality of information processing apparatuses, by activating a group chat tool. The language identification unit identifies, when a communication device receives a message inputted to the group chat from the information processing apparatus, a language of the message. When the language identified by the language identification unit is not installed, the controller retrieves language data indicating the identified language from a storage device, and installs the identified language as a language usable with the image forming apparatus.

A control unit makes a screen of a display unit display a plurality of pattern display areas to which a predetermined respective plurality of patterns are uniquely assigned at random as a pattern random array in the same layout as that of a plurality of input keys capable of inputting numerical values. The control unit determines a shortest path to go through a sequence of patterns serving as a password of a user in the pattern random array, and replaces a sequence of all patterns existing on the shortest path with a sequence of codes assigned to the respective plurality of input buttons according to a correspondence relationship between the plurality of input buttons and the plurality of pattern display areas to generate a one-time password. The control unit then compares the one-time password with a sequence of codes input by the user by using an input unit to perform authentication.

Provided is an image forming apparatus that performs appropriately changing to the power-saving mode according to environment (luminosity) of a place that user exists, without increasing in a cost. When there is access from a portable terminal, communication circuit requests to the portable terminal for transmission of illuminance information detected by an illuminance sensor in a side of the portable terminal. Then, based on the illuminance information, mode switching circuit changes to the power-saving mode.
