Abstract: Provided are an image processing apparatus and an image processing method capable of limiting the content of a document displayed on a preview screen. The image processing apparatus and image processing method according to this disclosure generate limited display data for displaying a limited document in which the content of a limited area satisfying a specific limiting condition cannot be recognized in a document indicated by document data of a processing target in the image processing apparatus. Then display the preview screen of the limited document on a display unit of the image processing apparatus based on the limited display data.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an image acquiring portion, a pair generating portion, first through third determination portions, and an image combining portion. The image acquiring portion acquires an image for each page of a booklet. The pair generating portion arranges the images in order of the pages of the booklet, and generates pairs from the arranged images, each pair being a pair of adjacent pages in a spread state of the booklet. The first determination portion determines whether a drawn image is present in a band-like region including a boundary between two images in each of the pairs. The second determination portion determines whether there is drawing continuity between the two images. The third determination portion determines whether the two images have to be combined on the basis of determination results of the first and second determination portions. If so, the image combining portion combines the two images.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus sequentially outputs on a discharge tray a sheet medium on which an image based on printing data is formed and includes a counting portion and a control portion. The counting portion counts the number of sheet medium output on the discharge tray. The control portion, when the count number of the sheet medium counted by the counting portion exceeds a prescribed threshold value, issues a warning to a user and/or interrupts output of sheet medium to the discharge tray, infers based on the printing data whether the attended time after the sheet medium is output to the discharge tray until they are removed is short or not, and, after outputting the printing data of which the unattended time is inferred to be short, decrements the count number.

Abstract: An image reader includes a document reading unit, and a control unit that functions as an individual image cutting section, character string detection section, mismatch detection section, judgment section, and correction section. The individual image cutting section cuts out individual images from image data obtained through reading by the document reading unit. The character string detection section detects character strings present on the individual images. The mismatch detection section detects, for the character strings detected by the character string detection section, a mismatching portion by making comparison between the individual images with considering character strings having contents identical or similar to each other as same information. The judgment section judges for the mismatching portions whether a ratio of majority characters reaches a predefined ratio. Upon judging that the ratio of the majority characters has reached the predefined ratio, the correction section replaces a minority character with the majority character.
