摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, devices (e.g., base stations, user equipment (UEs), etc.) may utilize polar coding along with hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) techniques. In these systems, a device may encode bits for transmission by mapping information and parity check bits to a first set of polarized bit channels of a polar code. If this transmission is not successfully received at a decoding device, the encoding device may generate a HARQ retransmission. The device may copy information bits to a second set of polarized bit channels of a second polar code containing the first polar code and may assign parity check bits to the second set of bit channels for the copied information bits. These additional parity check bits for the repeated information bits may increase transmission reliability and may support improved early termination at the decoding device.

A first wireless communication device communicates, with a second wireless communication device, a first communication signal including a plurality of information bits. The first wireless communication device determines a number of bits in the plurality of information bits to be repeated in a second communication signal based on channel capacity information. The first wireless communication device communicates, with the second wireless communication device, the second communication signal including the plurality of information bits and a repetition of a subset of the plurality of information bits, where the subset of the plurality of information bits includes the determined number of bits.

摘要: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to methods and apparatus for rate-matching a stream of bits encoded using polar codes. An exemplary method generally includes determining a target coding rate, RT, for transmitting a group of K information bits, based on a first coding rate, R1, corresponding to a first target block error rate (BLER) for a first transmission of a first redundancy version (RV) of the packet and a second coding rate, R2, corresponding to a second target BLER for a last transmission of a last RV of the packet; determining a circular buffer size, N, of a circular buffer for use in transmitting the first RV and the last RV of the packet; generating encoded information bits from the K information bits using a polar code having a mother code size of N; writing the encoded information bits to the circular buffer; determining a maximum number of retransmissions, based on a latency requirement for the packet; generating different RVs from the encoded information bits in the circular buffer, each RV based on a corresponding target BLER; and transmitting the first RV via a wireless medium.

摘要: Various aspects are described for schemes that address the potential puncturing of important reference signals (RSs) for enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) applications, such as demodulation reference signal (DMRS), channel state information reference signal (CSIRS), tracking reference signal, and general reference signal. The schemes can be used for recovery of eMBB's RS puncturing from dynamic multiplexing of ultra-reliable-low-latency communications (URLLC) and eMBB. The schemes include a block-based scheme and an over-provisioning scheme. The schemes modify an existing RS pattern before puncturing occurs in response to a presence of the URLLC traffic. In addition, there can be an option not to use (e.g., disable) time-domain orthogonal cover code (TD-OCC) for the RSs.

摘要: Apparatus and method for accessing a wireless telecommunications network by transmitting a random access signal. The random access signal includes a cyclic prefix signal and a guard interval. The cyclic prefix signal and the guard interval are adapted to optimize random access channel coverage in a telecommunications cell. The disclosed method for transmitting a random access signal includes transmitting a cyclic prefix signal. The duration of the cyclic prefix signal is approximately the sum of a maximum round trip delay duration of the telecommunications cell and a maximum delay spread duration. The method further includes providing a guard interval. The guard interval duration being approximately the duration of the maximum round trip delay of the telecommunications cell.
