    摘要: An apparatus for effecting a coalescence in enriched aqueous solutions which contain germanium and/or arsenic is disclosed, said apparatus comprising an emulsion-breaking unit consisting of a breaking cell providing with two electrodes, which are disposed on opposite sides outside cell walls adjacent thereto, and terminals for electric power, the electrodes and the breaking cell being contained in a container which is filled with an insulating medium and surrounded by a Faraday cage, a line for supplying emulsion to the breaking cell, a settling tank, a line for withdrawing the coalesced liquid and for transferring it to the settling tank, a line for withdrawing the membrane-forming organic phase from the settling tank, and means for recycling noncoalesced emulsion from the settling tank to the breaking cell.

    摘要: A process for extracting germanium and/or arsenic from an aqueous solution is described. In order to increase the yield and to perform a highly specific separating process, the liquid membrane technology is employed, in which the starting solution is adjusted by means of hydrochloric acid to a concentration in excess of 6 and up to 10 moles HCl/1, a polyisobutylenesuccinic anhydride/polyamine condensation product is used as a surfactant in the organic outer phase of the liquid membrane emulsion is adjusted to a pH value from 0 to 14 while a supply of chlorine ions is precluded.

    摘要: An emulsion-forming composition for forming an emulsion for use in a process for selectively recovering germanium or arsenic from an aqueous solution thereof by liquid membrane technology is disclosed, said composition consisting essentially of: a solvent mixture consisting essentially of specified amounts of a hydrocarbon which is a predominantly straight-chain saturated C.sub.16 -C.sub.20 hydrocarbon or kerosine, a mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbon (pref. xylene), and a halogenated C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 hydrocarbon (pref. CCl.sub.4); and more than 0.1% by weight of an oil-soluble polyisobutylene-succinic anhydride/polyamine condensation product.

    摘要: Process for separating and concentrating gallium from an aqueous solution containing gallium, together with aluminium, zinc and/or copper, charactrized by the following combination of features: (a) preparation of a water-in-oil emulsion consisting of a neutral or alkaline aqueous phase and an organic phase containing an oil-soluble reactant in a homogenizer in a volume ratio of aqueous phase to organic phase of 2:2 to 3:2; (b) dispersion of the water-in-oil emulsion in the aqueous solution containing gallium, which is adjusted to at least 4 mol/l of HCI, in an extractor in a volume ratio of aqueous phase to water-in-oil emulsion of 30:1 to 10:1 until droplets of the water-in-oil emulsion with a diameter less than or equal to 1 mm are obtained; (c) separation of the water-in-oil emulsion from the aqueous continuum and splitting of the emulsion in a reactor with coaxial, double-insulated electrodes in a high-voltage kV/cm and a frequency greater than 50 Hz, the unsplit portion of the water-in-oil emulsion being recycled into step (b); (d) separation of the electrocoalesced organic phase of the water-in-oil emulsion in a gravity separator and recycling of the same into step (a).

    摘要: 7-Phenylacetic acid-4-alkyl-coumarinyl amides having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl having 1 to 4, in particular 1 to 2 carbon atoms, optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms, in particular fluorine atoms, especially methyl or trifluoromethyl, are suitable substances for the fluorometric determination of the activity of hydrolases, in particular of penicillin G-acylase, since by the enzymatic reaction they provide cleavage products which in regard to their fluorescence properties differ drastically from those of the substrate. They can be used in processes for the fluorometric determination of the activity of hydrolases, in particular of penicillin G-acylase.
