A current limiting circuit for a boost converter includes a voltage divider circuit between a main switch which flows a current to an inductor and a comparator included in a current detecting circuit. The voltage divider circuit includes two transistors of the same type as that of the main switch, which are connected in series. One of the two transistors is a sub-switch which is connected between a voltage division point and a drain terminal of the main switch, and is turned on/off in synchronization with the main switch in accordance with an output signal of a control circuit. The other transistor is a detection resistance transistor which is connected between the voltage division point and a source terminal of the main switch, and whose gate terminal is connected to a bias voltage so that the detection resistance transistor is always on.

A fuel cell that operates at high temperature under non-humid conditions using an electrolyte membrane prepared by impregnating a basic polymer with an acid and a method of producing an electrode for a fuel cell, the fuel cell includes a catalyst layer electrode that can prevent the inhibition of gas diffusion due to generated water and the inhibition of gas diffusion due to an electrode catalyst being covered with an acid that leaks from the electrolyte membrane impregnated with the acid. The electrode includes a catalyst layer including a platinum-containing catalyst, a basic polymer, and a hydrophobic binder.

A membrane-electrode-assembly with a solid polymer electrolyte, wherein a laminated structure is obtained by a process in which a membrane/catalyst layer conjugate produced by bonding a first catalyst layer containing a catalyst and an ion-conducting resin to a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, and a gas diffusion layer/catalyst layer conjugate produced by forming a second catalyst layer containing a catalyst and an ion-conducting resin on one side of a gas diffusion layer consisting of a gas-permeable electroconductive sheet material are laminated at least on the anode or cathode side such that the first catalyst layer and second catalyst layer face each other.
