摘要:
Disclosed herein is a printer with a sheet feeding apparatus having a printer body incorporating a printing mechanism for printing onto continuous forms. A cutter is provided close to a continuous forms discharging port on the printer case. Following the cutter downstream, there is provided a sheet feeding belt that rotates at a rate higher than the feed rate of the continuous forms. Along the belt, there are provided a sheet traversing section, a sheet direction changing section, a sheet pushing section and a sheet stacker, in that order from upstream to downstream. The sheet traversing section seizes and feeds horizontally each sheet cut by the cutter. The sheet direction changing section perpendicularly changes the feed direction of each cut sheet. The sheet pushing section pushes each sheet onto the sheet stacker where an orderly stack of sheets is formed.

An optical measurement system for determination of a profile or thickness of an object includes first and second optical heads directing first and second light beams, respectively on first and second points on the surface of the object. Photo-sensors are included respectively in the first and second optical heads for receiving reflected lights from said first and second points and providing first and second outputs which varies in proportion to perpendicular distances from a reference plane to said first and second points on the object's surface. The first and second outputs are transmitted selectively to a single processing circuit through a switch. The processing circuit operates to process the first and second outputs in sequence to measure by triangulation the perpendicular distance of the first and second points from the reference plane and to analyze a surface or thickness of the object based upon thus measured perpendicular distances. With the use of the single processing circuit, the first and second outputs can be processed in the identical conditions to enable reliable determination of the perpendicular distances of the first and second points from the reference plane and therefore accurate analysis of the surface profile or the thickness of the object.

Aluminum alloys and castings are provided that have excellent practical fatigue resistances. The alloy includes, based upon 100 mass %, 4-12 mass % of Si, less than 0.2 mass % of Cu, 0.1-0.5 mass % of Mg, 0.2-3.0 mass % of Ni, 0.1-0.7 mass % of Fe, 0.15-0.3 mass % of Ti, and the balance of aluminum (Al) and impurities. The alloy has a metallographic structure, which includes a matrix phase primarily of α-Al and a skeleton phase crystallizing around the matrix phase in a network shape. The matrix phase is strengthened by precipitates containing Mg. Because of the strengthened matrix phase, and the skeleton phase that surrounds it, the castings have high strength, high fatigue strength, and high thermo-mechanical fatigue resistance.

A method for a surface treatment to form a hard layer including a IV-b group element of the Periodic Table on the surface of an iron, ferrous alloy or cemented carbide article in a molten bath, comprising preparing the molten bath composed of boron oxide and a IV-b group element, immersing the article in the molten bath and applying an electric current to, the molten bath through said article, said article being used as the cathode, thereby forming a very hard layer comprising the carbide of said IV-b group element on the surface of said article. The method of this invention can quickly form a uniform and dense hard layer on the surface of the article and can be carried out in the open air.

A method for forming a very hard layer on the surface of an iron, ferrous alloy or cemented carbide article in a treating molten bath, comprising preparing the treating molten bath composed of boron oxide and chromium, immersing the article in the treating molten bath and applying an electric current to the treating molten bath through said article being used as the cathode, thereby forming a very hard layer composed of chromium carbide and/or chromium boride on the surface of said article. The method of this invention can quickly form a uniform and dense layer on the surface of the article and can be carried out in the open air.
