    摘要: A rolled sheet is accommodated in an accommodating section. A cover is movable between an open position for opening the accommodating section and a closed position for covering the accommodating section. A part of the rolled sheet fed from the accommodating section is transported through the transporting path. A print head is disposed in a first side relative to the transporting path and operable to perform printing on the part of the rolled sheet in the transporting path. A cutter is disposed in the first side and movable between an operable position at which the cutter is operable to cut the part of the rolled sheet and a covered position at which the cutter is not operable to cut the part of the rolled sheet. The cutter is moved to the operable position when the cover is moved from the open position to the closed position, and is moved to the covered position when the cover is moved from the closed position to the open position. A cutter cover covers the cutter in the covered position.

    摘要: A printer has a roll paper housing for housing the recording paper roll, and an opening on its front side covered with a cover. The cover can be opened and closed by operating an operating lever attached to a movable-side paper feed mechanism section supported by a parallel linking mechanism. By pulling the operating lever toward this side of the printer, the movable-side paper feed mechanism section moves forward from a position above the roll paper housing while keeping the posture thereof. It is therefore possible to a sufficient space for charging the recording paper roll. The recording paper roll is charged, and the recoding sheet is drawn therefrom and passed above the movable-side paper feed mechanism section. In this state, by closing the cover by operating the operating lever, the movable-side paper feed mechanism section moves closer to a fixed-side paper feed mechanism section, thus automatically achieving the printable state in which the recording sheet is held between them.

A distance from a surface of the medium loaded on the media tray to a reference position of the transfer arm is acquired. A difference between the acquired distance and a predetermined distance from a reference surface of the media tray to the reference position of the transfer arm is calculated. It is determined that a double transfer of the medium to the media tray occurs when the calculated difference is larger than a predetermined threshold value.
