    摘要: An integrated circuit comprising a plurality of modules (M, S) and a network (N) arranged for transferring messages between said modules (M, S) is provided, wherein a message issued by a first module (M) comprises first information indicative for a location of an addressed module within the network (N), and second information indicative for a location within the addressed module (S). Said integrated circuit further comprises at least one address translation means (AT) for arranging the first and the second information as a single address. Said address translation means (AT) is adapted to determine which module is addressed based on said single address, and the selected location of the addressed module (S) is determined based on said single address. Accordingly, the design of the first modules (M), i.e. master modules, can implemented independent of the address mapping to the addressed modules (S), i.e. the slave modules. Furthermore, a more efficient network resource utilization is achieved and this scheme is backward compatible with busses.

    摘要: In networks on an integrated circuit a first module typically has access to an address space, wherein addresses identify locations within second modules. It may be necessary to address two or more second modules simultaneously. In that case, the first module replicates a request and sends the resulting plurality of requests to the second modules. This causes a large burden on the first module. The integrated circuit and the method according to the invention overcome this shortcoming, because the network can provide a multicast request to at least two second modules in response to a single request from the first module. For this purpose, the network can comprise a facility to map a multicast address onto two or more further addresses. Alternatively, a connection identifier 10 can be sent along with a request, which identifies a multicast connection.

    摘要: The invention relates to a data processing system and a method for synchronizing data traffic. The invention relies on the perception that the lack of synchronization of data traffic is primarily caused by the use of different schemes for reservation of resources. According to the invention, a conversion unit is provided which converts first data into second data, the first data being controlled by a first scheme for reservation of resources and the second data being controlled by a second scheme for reservation of resources. The conversion unit may be referred to as a network-level bridge (NWB). For example, the different schemes for reservation of resources may be based on slot tables, in which case the conversion unit converts the slot assignments for the first data into the slot assignments for the second data.
