The method may include determining an input bandwidth capacity of a network device comprising a network device port coupled to a plurality of computing devices; based on the input bandwidth capacity; generating a management signal, the management signal indicating a set of output lanes for each of the plurality of computing devices and indicating a different wavelength for each of the set of output lanes of each of a plurality of computing devices; sending the management signal to the plurality of computing devices through an optical bus; and receiving, through the optical bus, an optical signal comprising, for each computing device, a set of output signals from the set of output lanes indicated by the management signal, each output signal being represented by a wavelength indicated by the management signal.

    摘要: A transmitting device is provided which includes a plurality of input interfaces, each of which receives a signal from another device, a plurality of output interfaces, each of which transmits a signal to another device, a multiplexing unit which multiplexes the signals received by the plurality of input interfaces, a distributing unit which transmits the signal multiplexed by the multiplexing unit to each of the plurality of output interfaces, and a table storage unit which stores a switching table in which a transmission destination of each signal is defined. The output interface extracts a signal which the output interface is to transmit according to content of the switching table from each signal included in the signal multiplexed by the multiplexing unit, and transmits the extracted signal to a transfer destination according to the content of the switching table.

    摘要: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems and computer readable media for automatic, peer node transparent re-homing of time division multiplexed (TDM)-based signaling channels in an X user adaptation (XUA) signaling gateway. One exemplary method includes providing an XUA Signaling Gateway (SG) having a plurality of Signaling Gateway (SG) cards, a plurality of TDM network interface cards (NICs) and a plurality of packet NICs, and a switching matrix connecting the TDM NICs and the XUA SG cards. The method further includes configuring the switching matrix so that a first XUA SG card terminates a set of TDM-based signaling channels. The method further includes switching the set of TDM-based signaling channels from one of the TDM NICs to the first XUA SG card. The method further includes switching the set of TOM-based signaling channels, detecting failure of the first XUA SG card, and automatically reconfiguring the TDM switching matrix so that the set of TDM-based signaling channels is sent to a second XUA SG card of the plurality of XUA SG cards.

    摘要: A packet forwarding unit such as a Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) receives Ethernet packets carrying real-time information and forwards the information therein on output lines such as Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines (ADSLs). The DSLAM includes a clock device having an extraction unit and an adaptive clock. The extraction unit analyzes received packets to select streams of received packets from one destination to one user, and the adaptive clock generates a reference clock signal according to the arrival times of packets in the selected streams. The clock signal is sent to time reference units in DSL modems for the output lines.

    摘要: A call routing device in a communication network is re-entrant to permit a set of call routing rules to be applied more than once. A routing table in the routing device has entries to indicate that an incoming call should be rerouted to the routing device to permit additional call routing rule(s) to be applied to the incoming call. A routing table is provided with entries to indicate when an incoming call should be rerouted to the routing device and how call attributes should be created/modified to achieve call routing in one or more iterations of call routing processing using the routing table. The re-entrant routing device and routing table permits a wide variety of call attributes to be used to direct call routing processing using a routing table that can have a reduced number of entries. The re-entrant routing device and routing table permits a flexible configuration for call routing in communication networks while conserving routing device resources.
