摘要： A side airbag device incorporates an airbag which is fixed to and held by a vehicle so as to be folded in roll form, from a front portion to a rear portion of the vehicle, and which is expanded and developed like a curtain parallel with the inner surface of the side wall of the vehicle by a gas of an inflator when a collision is detected. An airbag support belt is attached to a portion, in close proximity to a top edge of the airbag and close to an attachment position of the inflator, of the airbag. The airbag support belt is wound around the circumferential surface of the inflator and a tip locking hole of the airbag support belt is fixed to a locking projection provided on the inflator, whereby the inflator is integrated with a part of the airbag which is folded in roll form.

摘要： In one form, a curtain airbag device is provided having a gas introduction portion that is folded so as to be disposed on a side surface of a folded body of a curtain airbag main body on a roof side portion side. When the vehicle is involved in a side collision or an overturn, an inflator discharges a gas, which is supplied to a curtain airbag, thereby causing the curtain airbag to start to be inflated. In this case, the gas from the inflator initially flows into the gas introduction portion so as to inflate the gas introduction portion. Thus, the inflating force of the folded body of the curtain airbag main body and the inflating pressure of the gas introduction portion are superposed each other so as to press a lower edge of a roof side garnish toward the inside of the vehicle cabin.

摘要： A curtain airbag that can be inflated with gas from an inflator and deployed along a side surface of a vehicle cabin. The curtain airbag includes, in an occupant restraint area corresponding to an occupant's position, a multistage chamber section comprising an upper chamber that is arranged at an upper side; a lower chamber that is arranged below the upper chamber; and a discharge passage that is arranged at a middle portion in a vertical direction between the upper chamber and the lower chamber. The discharge passage communicates with at least one of said upper chamber and said lower chamber to discharge gas from said upper chamber and/or said lower chamber through the discharge passage and is adapted to reduce its cross section when pressed by the occupant's head.

摘要： A curtain side-airbag device includes an airbag extending from front to rear of a vehicle, a plurality of inflatable support portions provided in the airbag and communicating with each other, and an inflator. The airbag is maintained in a folded state and secured in a vehicle body so that the airbag extends along an upper edge of an inner side surface of a vehicle cabin. The airbag is deployed in a form of a curtain along the inner side surface of the vehicle cabin. The airbag has an upper edge, a non-inflatable peripheral portion surrounding the inflatable support portions, and a strap provided between the upper edge and the non-inflatable peripheral portion of the airbag. The strap regulates a direction of deployment upon inflation of the inflatable support portions.

The tie panel is arranged on an opposite-interior surface of the curtain airbag main body and is connected to the curtain airbag main body at upper and lower portions of the tie panel. The curtain airbag main body includes first and second panels. At an overlapping area of the curtain main body and the tie panel, the first and second panels are coupled with each other by linear coupling portions which are radially extend toward four directions so as to form four inflation portions. A communication portion communicates two of the four inflation portions with each other. When the curtain airbag main body is inflated, a space is formed between the communication portion and the tie panel.
