摘要: A control is provided for louver blinds of the kind that hang vertically, although it would work for horizontally extended blinds and any other curtain or window cover in which both a double chain and a double cord or their equivalents were used. The control provides longitudinal channels through which the chains and cords pass, and are controlled by a cam and release bar arrangement to grip one of the cords, and three plungers to grip the other cord and two chains and exit the opposite side of the body of the control so that the control is easily gripped in one hand with the release bar pressed by the fingers and the thumb pressing a selected one of the buttons, or vice versa, so that all blind movements are made by pulling the control down, and lifting it back up in idling mode to pull down again, if necessary.

摘要: A water heater control system designed to conserve energy, in part by anticipating hot water demand as a function of usage, utilizes refined design features to effectively automatically switch the water heater's thermostat between a high and a low setting in response to actual use of hot water and the heat of the water at the moment. The basic purposes of the invention are first, the prevention of the system from switching into the "high" mode when in fact adequate hot water is still present in the tank, and second, the reduction of the length of the burner firing time at times when a long burn is not necessary. These features include a specialized heat sensor switch which permits the trigger temperature of the switch to follow the seasonal temperature of the incoming water, also a stack gas switch for further refining the system's function. Remote control and a special mounting means are also included in the refined control system.

摘要: A water heater control system is provided to lower the temperature to which hot water is heated during periods of low use, and raise the temperature back up during periods of peak demand. The unit described herein is adapted for use on a recirculating hot water system used in apartment buildings and includes a first thermoswitch disposed on the outflow pipe from the hot water tank which feeds this recirculating system. This pipe is hotter during periods of low use because the heater is adequate to provide continuous supply of very hot water which has not been drained by tenant use. Thus this thermoswitch is directly wired to a thermostat control to reduce the heater temperature when the thermoswitch is hot. A second switch is mounted on the cold water inflow supply pipe into the water heater, this thermoswitch being wired in series with the first thermoswitch, this switch being closed only when it is cooled, similar to the first thermoswitch, so that when the inflow supply pipe is cool due to high usage and thus continuous input of cold water, the second thermoswitch closes, which permits the first thermoswitch to control the system. During quiescent periods of low use, the inflow warms due to conduction from the hot water tank, thus opening the second thermoswitch and making the first switch ineffective.

摘要: A water heater control system for controlling the thermostat setting on a water heater which senses the temperature on an outflow line from the water heater and energizes a control for lowering the thermostat setting during periods of low flow demand and raising the thermostat setting during periods of high demand, thereby reducing overall required heating energy.
