The method includes a step of preparing a substrate provided with the heat generating element, a step of forming a grooved partition wall having the movable member and side walls of the second path portion, and a step of joining the grooved partition wall to the substrate to form the second path portion.

The ejection outlet opposes the heat generating surface with the movable member interposed therebetween, and an opposing member cooperates with the movable member to direct the bubble toward the ejection outlet. The movable member directs the growing bubble toward the ejection outlet in a direction substantially perpendicular to the heat generating surface.
