    摘要： A surface potentiometer has a conductive shield housing provided in proximity to a body to be measured, a cage-shaped chopper rotatable within the housing, and an electrode disposed further inwardly of the chopper. The chopper is rotated to induce in the electrode a voltage corresponding to the potential of the body to be measured, thereby measuring the surface potential of the body to be measured.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus has a rotatable member, a plurality of processing devices for forming an image on the rotatable member and transferring the image to transfer material, a device for fixing the transferred image, circuitry for controlling the operation of the rotating member and processing devices so that when the power switch is turned on at least the fixing device is turned on and when the power switch is turned off the fixing device is turned off while the rotation of the rotatable member is continued. The apparatus also includes a signal generating device associated with one of the processing devices, a first detector for detecting transfer material and a second detector for detecting the position of an original carriage, and circuitry for checking for a paper jam by counting signals from the time of the second detector signal. The apparatus also includes a detector for detecting the home position of the original carriage, setting structure for setting the carriage to the home position and resetting structure for preventing the start of processing immediately upon operation of a manual start switch.

    摘要： In a copying apparatus having an endless photosensitive medium, a number of copy process devices for forming an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive medium, for developing the latent image, for transferring the developed image and for cleaning the photosensitive medium, there is provided circuitry for controlling the operation of at least one of the copy process devices in accordance with the generation of a predetermined number of clock signals. The control circuitry acts to start the initiation of the copy process after counting a predetermined number of signals and to stop the rotation of the medium at a different rotational position from the start position. The apparatus also includes a jam detecting device and reciprocating member for the formation of the latent image, the position of which is detected for utilization in the control circuitry.

    摘要： A copying machine capable of making a copy of a selected area of a document, which is provided with a mechanism for setting the base line for copying a document placed on the original table as desired and for aligning the edge of copying material with the selected base line. The base line for copying is selectively determined by moving an indicator and when the moving optical system of the copying machine reaches the selected base line, an imagewise exposure is started. In timing with the exposure, feeding of copying material is also started. The lens of the optical system is moved by a distance determined by the distance which the indicator has moved to select the base line and the edge of the copying material is brought in alignment with the base line. To prevent the unnecessary area of the document from being copied, the area of photosensitive medium corresponding to the unnecessary area is exclusively exposed to light so as to erase the electrostatic latent image on this area.

    摘要： In a copying machine, especially of the liquid development type, a developing liquid recovery device includes heating means for heating wet-developed copy mediums to dry and fix them, wherein developing liquid vapor is produced from the copy mediums. Condenser means is provided for cooling the developing liquid vapor by means of a heat exchanger to thereby form the vapor into mist. Mist collector means for electrically charging the mist-like developing liquid vapor collects the vapor in an electric field. Circulating means is provided for circulating an air flow through the heating means, the condenser means and the mist collector means in succession.
