Abstract: A method for positioning elevator modules in a building, comprising: providing a plurality of prefabricated elevator modules to be installed in a shaft one above the other to form an elevator module stack, the prefabricated elevator modules comprise a prefabricated pit module, one or more prefabricated intermediate modules, and a prefabricated top module; performing a plumbing operation of the shaft; installing said plurality of prefabricated modules such that the hoistway spaces of the prefabricated modules are vertically aligned forming a continuous vertically elongated hoistway where an elevator car can be moved vertically for transporting passengers and/or goods; providing a positioning jig comprising a jig frame with guide means interoperating with guide means receiving members in the bottom of the pit module for guiding the pit module into position relating to the jig and the shaft, determining an installation position for the jig by the plumbing operation and installing the jig in the installation position in the pit of the shaft indicated by the plumbing, and hoisting the pit module onto the jig guided by the guide means. Abstract: A method for constructing an elevator into a destination location from a plurality of prefabricated elevator modules includes fabricating a plurality of elevator modules, in particular at a location apart from said destination location. The fabricating includes providing one or more module frames having a longitudinal axis; positioning one or more of the module frames in horizontally oriented position, wherein in the horizontally oriented position the longitudinal axis is horizontal; and while the one or more module frames are in the horizontal position, performing installation work on said one or more module frames. The method includes arranging the modules into the destination location on top of each other such that said modules are in a vertically oriented position.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method of monitoring assembly of an elevator, comprising prefabricating a plurality of hoistway sections each hoistway section having a hoistway space, transporting the hoistway sections to a building site, and lifting the hoistway sections at the building site on top of each other. In order to facilitate fast and reliable assembly, a hoistway section is provided during prefabrication with a sensor device having a transmitter which is activating during prefabrication to transmit sensor data via to a data storage storing the transmitted sensor data in a memory. The sensor data is monitored, and transmission of a message to a predetermined recipient is triggered when the sensor data fulfills at least one predetermined criterion defined in an assembly plan.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for constructing an elevator, comprising piling plurality of prefabricated modules on top of each other, such that the hoistway spaces of the prefabricated modules are vertically aligned forming a continuous vertically elongated hoistway where the elevator car and the counterweight can be fitted to move; and arranging the elevator car and the counterweight to be vertically movable in the hoistway. The plurality of prefabricated hoistway modules comprise a prefabricated top module comprising a machinery for driving a hoisting roping, and the prefabricated top module comprises one or more car guide rail sections and one or more counterweight guide rail sections, wherein the machinery for driving a hoisting roping is mounted on a support structure, which is mounted on plurality of said guide rail sections of the prefabricated top module. The invention also relates to an elevator obtained with the method.
