摘要： A color image is scanned in the matrix direction by the number of colors calculating unit and the number (A) of colors of different full color pixel values is counted. In this instance, each time the number (A) of colors is counted up, a pallet forming unit sequentially stores the full color pixel values as representative colors into entries and forms a subtractive color pallet. When the number (A) of colors exceeds the number (n) of entries of the subtractive color pallet, a transfer format discriminating unit counts the number (N) of transfer pixels up to the end of one-preceding row and compares a transfer data amount by a full color format with a transfer data amount by a pallet format in the number (N) of transfer pixels, thereby allowing the data transfer by the color format of a smaller one of the transfer data amounts to be executed by a data transfer unit.

摘要： A process discriminating unit allows an optimum converting process among a first magnification processing unit, a second magnification processing unit, a first reduction processing unit, a second reduction processing unit, and a third reduction processing unit to be executed on the basis of a conversion magnification (K), a resolution (D), and an image size. Particularly, each of the second magnification processing unit, first reduction processing unit, and second reduction processing unit magnifies an original image to a virtual image of a dot size obtained by magnifying a target image by 2 or 4 by an interpolation based on a simple repetition by a nearest neighborhood method and, after that, reduces to the target image in which the pixel value is obtained by averaging a plurality of pixels corresponding to one target pixel of the virtual image.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a transport mechanism transporting a recording medium on a belt which is transported at a constant speed in a transport direction, a plurality of electrostatic recording units arranged in the transport direction of the recording medium and transferring toner images of different colors, a positional error detecting part using the toner image of a reference color transferred by one of the electrostatic recording units as a reference image, and relatively detecting positional error information related to positional errors of the toner images of remaining colors transferred by the remaining electrostatic recording units with respect to the reference image, and a positional error correcting part relatively correcting the positional errors of the toner images transferred by the remaining electrostatic recording units based on the positional error information. The positional error detecting part includes a part for controlling the electrostatic recording units to transfer at least two resist marks on the belt at a scan starting end and a scan terminating end of the belt in a main scan direction which is perpendicular to the transport direction of the recording medium, with respect to each of the colors, and a second part, including a sensor detecting the resist marks, for detecting positional error quantities of the resist marks of each of the remaining colors with respect to the resist marks of the reference color based on detection times of the resist marks of reference color and the remaining colors.

摘要： A disc playback device capable of continuously playing back a plurality of discs such as Compact Discs includes a main body, a tray movable relative to the main body for being received in and drawn out of the main body, a rotary table mounted rotatably on the tray, and a plurality of disc holding sections formed about a rotation axis of the rotary table. A turntable, a disc clamper and a reproducing head are provided in the main body separately from the tray. A recess is formed in the radial direction of the rotary table in each disc holding section and opens outwardly at the outer periphery of the rotary table. A disc mounting mechanism is provided for setting a disc held in the disc holding section on the turntable and clamping it by the disc clamper. The tray is formed with an opening communicating with the recess of the disc holding section in a disc playback position. The tray can be drawn out of the main body by keeping clear of the turntable and the reproducing head through the recess of the disc holding section and the opening of the tray while the disc is being played back. The disc holding sections hold discs in an inclined position in the circumferential direction of the rotary table and presence or absence of discs is detected by a reproducing head when the rotary table is rotated. While the tray is moved in and out of the main body, a pickup servo gain is increased to stabilize playback of a disc while the tray is being moved.

摘要： In a printing machine such as an impact printer, the printing gap between a print head and a platen is appropriately adjusted to cope with a variety of paper sheets. For adjusting the printing gap, the platen (or print head) is moved toward the print head (or platen) to press a paper sheet and then the platen (or print head) is moved to an origin position. Thereafter, the platen (or print head) is moved closer to the print head (or platen) by an appropriate pressing distance obtained by subtracting an appropriate value for the printing gap from the distance between the pressing position and the origin position.
