    摘要: A print apparatus includes a conveyor configured to convey a sheet along a conveyance path in a first direction. The print apparatus also includes a print head on the conveyance path, a main scan direction of the print head crossing the first direction. The print apparatus further includes a print controller configured to control the print head that in a first print mode prints images on the sheet using a first print reference position on a first end of the print head in the main scan direction and a first image direction parallel to the first direction, and in a second print mode prints images on the sheet using a second print reference position on a second end of the print head in the main scan direction and a second image direction parallel and opposite to the first image direction.

    摘要: A sheet measuring apparatus includes a first rotating member including a first peripheral surface portion that contacts a transported sheet; a second rotating member including a second peripheral surface portion that contacts the first peripheral surface portion; a first rotation amount detecting unit that detects a first rotation amount of the first rotating member; a second rotation amount detecting unit that detects a second rotation amount of the second rotating member; a sheet calculation unit that obtains a first rotating member correction value for correcting an error that is superposed on the second rotation amount due to a radius distribution of the first rotating member and that performs calculation related to the transported sheet; a radius distribution calculating unit that calculates a new radius distribution of the first rotating member; and an updating unit that updates the first rotating member correction value to a new first rotating member correction value.

    摘要: A printing system includes a host terminal apparatus (e.g., personal computer) and an image forming apparatus (e.g., printer). The personal computer transmits print data to the printer. The printer is connected to the host terminal apparatus over a network, the printer being capable of embedding a watermark pattern into the print data received from the host terminal apparatus. The watermark pattern contains an item of information that identifies a user who actually picks up a printed output of said image forming apparatus. The watermark pattern contains information that identifies a user who activates printing of the print data. The printer includes a user identifying section that identifies a user who actually picks up the printed output.

    摘要: Using a picture image printing system, both types of pictures recorded by a camera using a film and a digital camera are effectively printed. The printing system comprises a film scanner for inputting a picture recorded on a film, and a card reader for inputting a picture recorded by a digital camera. By switching these upon necessity, digital image data are obtained. An image processing apparatus carries out a pixel number conversion on the digital image data keeping an aspect ratio of the image constant so that the picture image data are printed in a width almost the same as a width of rolled paper. The digital image data whose pixel number has been converted are printed in the form of a print on the rolled paper by a printer.

    摘要: A system for compensating for a calibration drift in an image output device includes a user input means for specifying an output medium. An image output device controller converts original image data to final image data used by the image output device. The image output device produces a calibration image, as a function of an output medium, for a plurality of halftone screens capable of being produced by the image output device. A processor communicates with the controller. The processor calculates a plurality of candidate tone reproduction curve sets for the specified output medium. Each of the sets corresponds to one of the plurality of halftone screens. The candidate tone reproduction curve sets are accepted for compensating for a calibration drift in the image output device.

    摘要: In template information to be used for selection of a template, a printer model and an individual printer are identified in a PRINTER MODEL column and the kind of printing media loaded in the printer is identified in a KIND OF MEDIA column and a TEMPLATE USED column is provided to correspond to a combination of a printer model and a kind of media. In the TEMPLATE USED column, templates are stored in reverse chronological order of use and the frequency of use of each template is also stored. When a template is used, the history and frequency of use of each template are updated in the TEMPLATE USED column which corresponds to the relevant printer model, individual printer and kind of printing media.
