A laser based measuring apparatus for measuring a position of a distant target is disclosed. Some embodiments may include a laser tracker for detecting the position and the orientation of a measuring aid The laser-based measuring apparatus may include a base, a support, a telescope unit means, a first bearing apparatus, and a second bearing apparatus. In some embodiments the first bearing apparatus is in the form of a fixed/loose bearing apparatus, having a shaft, the longitudinal axis of which runs coaxially with the tilt axis, a fixed bearing and a loose bearing, and/or the second bearing apparatus is in the form of a fixed/loose bearing apparatus, having a shaft, the longitudinal axis of which runs coaxially with the vertical axis, a fixed bearing and a loose bearing.
Abstract:
The invention generally relates to an industrial or geodetic surveying device having a tracking unit configured to receive over a tracking channel a tracking signal which is used to track a cooperative target. According to the invention, the surveying device comprises a camera to generate image data, wherein based on the additional knowledge about the position of the cooperative target in an image generated in the locked state, the visual appearance of the target carrier is learned and the result is stored in the form of a detector for use in a backup tracking mode.

A laser tracker for industrial coordinative position determination of a target, wherein the laser tracker at least comprises a control and evaluation unit, a base and a beam directing unit, means for detecting a rotation angle of the beam directing unit relative to the base, and a first optical distance measuring unit having at least a first beam source and a first detection unit. The distance measuring unit and the control and evaluation unit are designed for implementing a first and a second measurement functionality, where at least one element of the distance measuring unit is designed for dual use in the first and in the second measurement functionality. The first measurement functionality is for coordinative position determination of a retroreflective target, and the second measurement functionality is for position determination of a diffusely scattering target.

The camera system may be used in a measuring apparatus, having a tube-like guide system having a tube body, which defines a tube interior and an optical axis, a sensor module disposed downstream of the guide system and an optical sensor for detecting optical radiation, at least one first carriage which has an optical assembly having at least one optical element and an optical system carrier, is arranged in a manner linearly moveable along the optical axis in the tube interior and is mounted in a manner guided substantially without play through the tube body in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis, and a first drive system for moving the first carriage along the optical axis, said first drive system being decoupled from the guide system.
