Abstract:
A device for milking an animal, in particular a cow. The device is provided with a stress measuring device for determining the degree of stress of the animal and for supplying stress measurement data to a storage device for storing stress measurement data. The device is adapted to store stress measurement data before and during milking. A device for monitoring an animal, in particular a cow. The device comprises a stress measuring device for determining stress of the animal. The stress measuring device comprises a device selected from the group consisting of an infrared meter for measuring an infrared image of the animal, a hygrometer for determining for determining the humidity of the fur respectively the nose of the animal, an iris scanner for determining the eye characteristics of the animal, a smell or odour meter for determining the breath or body odour of the animal, a muscular tension measuring device for determining the muscular tension of the animal, an excrement analysing device for determining the characteristics of the excrement of the animal, a muscle vibration meter for determining the muscle vibrations of the animal. A method of milking an animal, in particular a cow. The method comprises the step of determining stress of the animal before and during milking.
Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting physical abnormalities in milk which comprises a light source for irradiating milk with light of red or green or blue colors or any combination of such colors. The intensity of light reflected or diffused or transmitted, or any combination thereof, by the milk, or from background light of the milk, is measured by light sensors. A computer processes the measurement data and is programmed to select, based on comparisons of the values derived from the measured light intensities with reference values, a diagnostic basis or diagnostic bases for abnormalities in the milk from a plurality of diagnostic bases of possible abnormalities stored in the memory of the computer.
Abstract:
A device for automatically supplying a predetermined amount of at least one sort of feed to an animal in a period having a predetermined length. Said device is provided with a feeding parlour, with animal identification means for identifying an animal present at the feeding parlour, and with a computer for controlling the device for automatically supplying the at least one sort of feed to the feeding parlour. The computer is suitable for determining the sub-period between the last supply of feed to an animal and the momentary point of time when the animal is identified by the animal identification means at the feeding parlour. The computer controls the device in such a way that, during the momentary visit of the animal to the feeding parlour, there is supplied to the animal a feed balance, the size of said feed balance depending on the determined sub-period.
