Disclosed are mobile terminals, home appliances, and methods of operating the same. The mobile terminal may include a controller configured to control display of a screen including an application related to the home appliance in response to an input to execute the application related to the home appliance. The controller may control setting of information, related to any one access point device among a plurality of access point devices stored in the mobile terminal, for connecting to an access point device with respect to the home appliance when product registration of the home appliance is not completed when a login item is selected on the application screen. The controller may also control to transmit a media access control (MAC) address of the access point device to the home appliance based on the set information and perform product registration for the home appliance.

A home appliance includes a main body having a storage compartment, a door that opens or closes the storage compartment, a detection unit to detect an opening or closing of the door, a display unit disposed on the main body or the door to display information, and a control unit to control the display unit on the basis of the detection by the detection unit. The control unit changes a display on the display unit from a main screen to a function management screen in response to a command inputted on the main screen when the main screen is displayed on the display unit, and the control unit changes a display on the display unit from the main screen to the function management screen in response to the opening or closing of the door detected by the detection unit when the main screen is displayed on the display unit.

An electric product which includes a recognition device obtaining information about a food item to be added to a storage compartment, and a display unit displaying information about a food item stored in the storage compartment. The electric product further includes a memory unit storing the information about the food item stored in the storage compartment, and a control unit controlling the display unit. The recognition device obtains information about a food item to be added. The control unit stores the information about the food to be added in the memory unit and displays the information about the food added to the memory unit on the display unit.

A mobile terminal, a home appliance and a method for operating the same are disclosed. The mobile terminal includes a display configured to display a predetermined screen, a near field communication (NFC) module configured to transmit or receive information related to the screen to or from a home appliance by tagging to the home appliance, and a controller configured to control display of the information received from the home appliance on the display. Accordingly, it is possible to transmit information between the home appliance and the mobile terminal via NFC.

The present disclosure relates to a refrigerator. In the refrigerator according to an embodiment, an outer spacer supporting a display is grounded with a ground, and electromagnetic waves transmitted from the outer spacer is charged to the outside. Therefore, the electromagnetic waves can be prevented as acting on a display image as a noise.

A screen that is capable of being displayed on the display unit includes a main screen and a function management screen that is displayed when a selection is capable of being made with respect to the main screen. When the opened or closed state of the door is detected by the detection unit, the control unit displays the function management screen on the display unit.
