Abstract: A refrigerator includes: a cabinet; a door; an ice-making compartment mounted on an interior of the cabinet or on a back surface of the door, the ice-making compartment having an ice-making chamber and a cold air discharge hole; an ice tray located in the ice-making compartment; an ice bin arranged beneath the ice tray; a dispenser located at the door; a discharge duct located inside the door, the discharge duct having an entrance communicating with the ice-making compartment and an exit communicating with the dispenser; a thermoelectric element coupled to a bottom surface of the ice tray; a heat-radiating member forced against the thermoelectric element; and a cold air guide mounted on the bottom surface, the cold air guide defining a space that receives the thermoelectric element and the heat-radiating member, a cold air inlet, and a cold air outlet that communicates with the cold air discharge hole.

The refrigerator further includes a third capillary that is configured to reduce refrigerant pressure. The refrigerator further includes a 4-way valve that includes an inlet that is connected to the condenser, a first outlet that is connected to the first capillary, a second outlet that is connected to the second capillary, and a third outlet that is connected to the third capillary, and that is configured to selectively distribute refrigerant to at least one of the first capillary, the second capillary, or the third capillary.

Abstract: A temperature sensing apparatus for a heat exchanger may include a sensor bracket installed at an outer circumferential surface of a refrigerant pipe forming the heat exchanger, and a temperature sensor accommodated at an inside of the sensor bracket, and configured to be in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the refrigerant pipe, when the sensor bracket is installed at the refrigerant pipe, to sense a surface temperature of the refrigerant pipe. The sensor bracket includes a bracket body rounded to surround the outer circumferential surface of the refrigerant pipe, a sensor accommodating groove formed at an inner surface of the bracket body to be recessed and in which the temperature sensor is accommodated, and a pipe holder configured to protrude from an end of the bracket body and to be in close contact with the outer circumferential surface of the refrigerant pipe.
