    Abstract: The present invention is related to an electronic device and a method for controlling the electronic device. According to the present invention, if a Point Of Interest (POI) to be enlarged is selected from a camera image, resizing is performed with a predetermined resizing speed while the POI is being zoom-processed to be displayed at the center of a screen, and thereby an arbitrary area may be enlarged or decreased, providing an effect of smoothly enlarging or decreasing the POI.

    Abstract: Provided is a pointing device having an optical module for coordinate tracking in order to solve the problem that a pointing device using the diffraction principle of light increases in size due to an optical module, wherein the optical module comprises: a light-emitting unit which irradiates light toward an outside surface; a lens unit provided between the light-emitting unit and the outside surface to refract and diffract the light; and a light receiving unit to which the light reflected from the outside surface through the lens unit reaches, wherein the light receiving unit comprises a detector which senses the reflected light, and a light receiving surface of the detector is inclined at a specific angle toward the optical axis of the light-emitting unit.

    Abstract: Provided is a pointing device in the form of a direct signal generation pen, for recognizing handwriting on any outer surface in order to solve an error of handwriting trajectory generated by the rotation of a pen, the pointing device comprising: an optical module for irradiating light on the outer surface and receiving reflected light so as to sense the frequency of the reflected light; an inertial sensor for sensing the movement, rotation, and azimuth of the pointing device; and a calculation unit for setting a reference coordinate system having handwriting direction information on the basis of a sensing value of the optical module or the inertial sensor, and recognizing first handwriting information on the basis of the set reference coordinate system.
