Abstract: Provided are a robot and a service providing method performed by a processor included in the robot. The provided robot calculates clothing information of a first user who is in the space, location information of the first user in the space, and space entry time information of the first user on the basis of at least one of images of an internal space, sound generated in the internal space, and information of the internal space, determines whether the first user is a guest or a host based on the calculated information, determines whether the first user who has been determined as the guest is a first guest who stays in the space for a short time period or a second guest who stays in the space for a long time period, and determines a type of service provided by the robot based on a result of the determination.
