Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a mobile terminal having a single display unit consisting of a main region and an extended region, and a control method thereof. A mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a single display unit comprising a main region and an extended region formed to be extended in at least one direction of the main region, and a controller configured to control any content in a different mode based on a region to which a predetermined type of touch is applied among the main region and the extended region in a state that screen information associated with the any content is displayed on the display unit.
