Abstract: In order to effectively perform auto focusing and an OIS function, provided is an optical device in a first diopter state, the optical device comprising: a liquid lens having a variable diopter; a memory in which regions of interest (ROIs) according to the variable diopter are recorded; a lens control unit for retrieving a first ROI corresponding to the first diopter from the memory and configuring the first ROI; and a diopter operating unit for auto-focusing the first ROI to change the liquid lens to have a second diopter.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same that may secure an appropriate amount of light for a subject and minimize a shadow of the subject even when capturing an image in a close-up manner using a camera embedded in the mobile terminal. One aspect of the present disclosure proposes a mobile terminal including a rear cover having an opening defined therein, a camera disposed to be optically exposed to the outside through the opening, a flash surrounding the camera, wherein the flash is disposed to be optically exposed to outside through the opening, a support frame surrounding the flash and being attached to one surface of the rear cover corresponding to a periphery of the opening while being externally exposed to outside through the opening, and a cover glass attached to the support frame to cover the camera and the flash.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mobile terminal comprising a liquid lens including: a side wall part; a first and a second glass layer which cover one surface and the other surface of the side wall part, respectively, to form a receiving part; a plurality of electrode modules, each of which is positioned on the side wall part and includes a first and a second electrode; an insulation layer covering the first electrode; a nonpolar liquid filled in the receiving part; and a polar liquid which is separated from the polar liquid in layers, is filled in the receiving part, and is in contact with the second electrode, wherein a boundary surface between the nonpolar liquid and the polar liquid changes into a shape protruding toward the polar liquid as a voltage applied to the electrode modules increases, and a control part differently controls at least a part of the voltage applied to the plurality of electrode modules to adjust a position of a protrusion of the boundary surface.

Abstract: A method of controlling a mobile terminal includes the steps of injecting a laser signal to a direction at which a camera is facing, receiving a reflected laser signal corresponding to the injected laser signal returned in a manner of being reflected to a subject, calculating a distance from the subject using a difference between time of injecting the laser signal and time of receiving the reflected laser signal, calculating standard illuminance of a flash based on the distance from the subject, injecting light by controlling the flash according to the standard illuminance and storing a first image including the subject using a camera module. According to the method, since it is able to obtain an image of which a whole screen is maintained by a reasonable brightness, a subject and a background can be included in an image.
