Abstract: Provided is a positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur secondary battery comprising a positive electrode active material, an electrically conductive material, a binder, and a multivalent metal salt. The multivalent metal salt comprises a cation of a metal selected from a group consisting of metals having 3 to 6 of an effective nuclear charge of outermost electrons in the 3rd and 4th periods. The positive electrode for the lithium-sulfur secondary battery can improve the performance of the lithium-sulfur secondary battery by introducing a multivalent metal salt and thus effectively inhibiting the leaching of lithium polysulfide when applied to the battery while not significantly increasing the weight of the electrode and not significantly lowering the conductivity of the electrode.

Abstract: A positive electrode active material having a core/shell structure, which includes a sulfur-carbon composite containing thermally expanded-reduced graphene oxide, a carbon material as a core, and carbon nanotubes as a shell. A method for preparing a positive electrode active material having a core/shell structure for a lithium secondary battery, including the steps of thermally expanding graphene oxide by heat treatment at a temperature in a range of 300° C. to 500° C. to prepare a thermally-expanded graphene oxide. Then, reducing the thermally-expanded graphene oxide by heat treatment at a temperature in a range of 700° C. to 1200° C. to prepare a thermally expanded-reduced graphene oxide. Next, mixing the thermally expanded-reduced graphene oxide and sulfur to prepare a sulfur-carbon composite. Last, mixing the sulfur-carbon composite and carbon nanotubes to form carbon nanotubes on a surface of the sulfur-carbon composite.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a positive electrode slurry for a lithium-sulfur battery including a positive electrode active material, an electrically conductive material, a binder and a solvent, where the ratio of the average particle diameter (D50) of the positive electrode active material and the positive electrode slurry is 1.5 or less, and the phase angle at 1 Hz of the positive electrode slurry is 50° or more. The positive electrode slurry for the lithium-sulfur battery of the present disclosure exhibits excellent flowability even while having a high solid content, thereby making it possible to manufacture a positive electrode for a lithium-sulfur battery with excellent electrochemical properties and improving the productivity and economic feasibility of the manufacturing process of the positive electrode for the lithium-sulfur battery.
