Abstract:
An array substrate of a liquid crystal display includes a gate line, a data line crossing the gate line, a thin film transistor including a gate electrode connected to the gate line, a semiconductor layer having first and second sides, a source electrode contacting the first side of the semiconductor layer and connected to the data line, and a drain electrode contacting the second side of the semiconductor layer, a gate insulating film provided between the gate line and the data line, an organic protective film formed on the gate insulating film, a capacitor common line provided on the organic protective film to overlap the gate line, an upper insulating layer provided on the organic protective film, and a pixel electrode provided on the upper insulating layer partially overlapping the capacitor common line and the data line, the pixel electrode connected to the drain electrode via a contact hole through the upper insulating layer and the organic protective film.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a liquid crystal display device includes: forming alignment keys by at least one of ink jet printing, offset printing, screen printing and laser marking on a dummy region of an upper substrate; forming a first alignment film over an active region of the upper substrate; forming sealant along a periphery of the active region of the upper substrate; and bonding the upper substrate to a lower substrate.
Abstract:
An LCD panel of high resolution (with decreased pixel pitch) and a method for manufacturing the same. In the LCD panel, the even numbered data lines are formed only up to the cell region of a substrate and then extended up to the pad region using conductive patterns. With the use of refracted conductive patterns, the even numbered data pads could be extended from the even numbered data lines and arranged parallel to the odd-numbered data pads along the longitudinal direction of odd-numbered data lines, thereby decreasing the pitch. Instead of using the conductive patterns, the even numbered data lines may be made longer than the odd numbered data lines in the pad region and may be refracted appropriately to arrange the even numbered data pads in parallel to the odd numbered data pads along the longitudinal direction of the odd numbered data lines.
