Abstract: A method for manufacturing a reinforced shell part for a wind turbine blade includes providing a shell having an inner surface, optionally arranging a plurality of fibre layers on the inner surface of the shell to form a base part of a reinforced section, providing a preform of a first inlay, arranging the preform of the first inlay on the inner surface of the shell and/or on the base part of the reinforced section, providing a preform of a second inlay, arranging the preform of the second inlay on the inner surface of the first shell part and/or on the base part of the reinforced section, and arranging at least one pultrusion layer on the preform of the first inlay, the preform of the second inlay, and the inner surface of the shell and/or the base part of the reinforced section.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a part, such as a preform, for a wind turbine blade. One or more channel members (72) are fastened to the mould surface of a preform mould, and a fibre material (85) and a binding agent is arranged on the mould surface (87). The fibre material, the binding agent and the one or more channel members are covered with a vacuum bag, and negative pressure is applied to the fibre material and binding agent via the one or more channel members for consolidating the preform. Each of the channel members (72) comprises a plurality of slits (77) extending between its inner surface and its outer surface, the slits having an orientation that is substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis of the channel member.

Abstract: A gripping device (76) is provided for lifting a preform for a wind turbine blade from a preform mould (71). The gripping device (76) comprises a base frame (62), a plurality of arms (78) slidably mounted on the base frame (62), each arm (78) having a proximal end and a distal end, a plurality of gripping members (86) for gripping a top surface (75) of the preform. The vertical position of one or more arms (78) of the gripping device (76) relative to the base frame (62) may change when lowering the gripping device (76) towards a preform to reflect the top surface (75) of the perform.
