Abstract: Combined with an already known electrical circuit used in school buses to activate flashing yellow and red lights, the present invention provides an audible warning to children who have alighted from the bus. The audible warning system is automatically activated in response to closing of the door of the bus preparatory to movement of the bus away from the stop, sounding a clearly audible warning, preferably at the front and rear of the bus, for a time period sufficient to warn the children away from the bus until it is safely on its way, and has put enough distance between the bus and the children to prevent their injury. The system employs a transistorized circuit in which power supplied to a buzzer or other audible alarm device is controlled by one or more transistors, in association with a capacitor. As the school bus nears a bus stop, the operator activates a yellow warning light system, which changes automatically to a red light warning system while the bus is stopped. Upon opening of the school bus door, the capacitor is short-circuited and discharged, in a circuit configuration that withholds current from the audible alarm device. On closing of the door, the capacitor prevents the transistor from conducting during the time required to charge the capacitor, and in this predetermined time period the buzzer or other alarm device is caused to operate in response to rendering the transistor non-conductive while the capacitor is again being charged.

Abstract: An automatic intermittent break-up device repeatedly movable toward the center of the fluid stream exiting a nozzle to a first position to increase the break-up of the stream and movable away from the center of the fluid stream exiting the nozzle to a second position to decrease the break-up. The increased break-up sequence of operation provides a more desired distribution of fluid on the surface area. The intermittent break-up device includes an adjustable break-up member or screw. The member is connected to an automatic mechanism of an irrigation device to drive the member into the first position when the irrigation device delivers fluid over a particular area of the ground and drives the member into the second position when the irrigation device subsequently delivers fluid over the said particular area of the ground.

Abstract: A set of golf club irons with heads having graduated loft angles, the striking faces being of the same size and elliptical shape so that the club head is balanced both vertically and horizontally about the center of the elliptical driving face, with a downwardly curved lower front edge to minimize the divot, and a recess in the rear face creates a sweet spot at the center of the striking face and a uniform distance from the lower front edge throughout the set of irons, the minimum thickness of metal at the sweet spot being also uniform throughout the set of irons since the recess is a spherical segment, above the sole of the head, having a constant radius with a center on a line through the center of the driving face and normal to the plane of the driving face. The psychological advantage in locating the sweet spot identically in identical driving faces is obvious since the user can more easily learn to use all the clubs of the set with heightened efficiency.
